Gotta get to Mason Edwards early. If that kid has his plus CB working, it's extremely hard to hit. I've watched 3 of his starts this year, and he has a crazy whiff rate on both his CB & CH. His CB has a 66% whiff rate and his CH has a 70.6% whiff/strikeout rate. I believe a 15.9 K/9 rate. Def a fun pitcher to watch.

Really praying Lynch comes in hot again. Loved watching him do his thing last weekend.

So excited for this game to start.

The concourse is a good place to watch the game on hot and sunny days. It’s shady, nice breeze, and the food and beverages are close by.
And it will resemble the postgame concourse in Carmichael when the men played there. Those who attended games there know what I mean.

Sticking with Lynch huh? Seems like a good call
Stated reason is because of rest days. A consequence of last weekend. Or it could be due to USC pitching their ace today and Forbes is willing to risk losing Friday for a better chance of winning with our ace Saturday. If it works out and UNC wins today with Lynch we have the upper hand.

Bit of a catch 22 here today. Part of me wants to attack Edwards early in the count. You want to avoid his off speed stuff. He can start dotting the curve, so to jump on his stuff early in the count may be necessary. However…part of me wants to drive up pitch count and get into the pen. Not sure which strategy is better. I do know we have to hit mistakes when they (rarely) happen, and hope Lynch puts up efficient frames.

Maybe a tale of 2 halves of the game. I feel like we may have to absorb the first punch. We probably have our best chances to score after we've seen Edwards a time or 2. But I'll be ecstatic if we can get to him early.

I am so nervous. I want our boys to win this so desperately, especially after the heartbreak from last year. Looking at Mason Edwards’s stats are kind of sobering though. Hopefully he’s off today.

Hit the fastball, stay middle/opposite at the plate, see everything deep. Aggressive on straight stuff, spit on offspeed early in counts.

I just hope we can get into their bullpen, but it sounds like Edwards just throws nasty stuff, so he’s going to make it tough for us.

Fantastic first inning for Lynch, used his first slider of the game for a strikeout of Adrian Lopez, then used high heat to get Augie Lopez. All on 15 total pitches 11 of those strikes

Was skeptical watching Lynch's warm up pitches... seemed a bit wild.

Has clearly settled in, 1-2-3 first for Lynch on 2Ks and a G3-1
