So basically, rather than accepting the fact that her days as a fringe NFL reporter were likely over and moving on to something else, she just decided to burn it all down.

I'll watch the fire.

Man, I hated going 9-4 , being Ranked , winning the egg bowl, winning a New Year’s Day bowl. This 2-22 record stuff is so much better *

OK, I'll play. Watching both a Leach team and a Lebby team gives me about the same amount of excitement. To your points:

-Leach was 1-2 against Univ of Northern MS his lone win by 2 points

-We went to 3 bowl games in the Leach years, none were New Years Day bowls.
'20 Armed Forces bowl (which we were gifted because of Covid despite having a 3-7 losing record) was played Thursday 12/31
'21 Liberty Bowl was played Tue 12/28 and we were smoked by TX Tech 34-7 That season we lost to Memphis and only beat La Tech by 1
'22 Reliaquest Bowl played 01/02/23 coached and won by Arnett. It is only bowl recently played on New Years Day but not since 2020, and not in the coming 2 years that they list dates for.

Leach had 2 very underwhelming seasons (11-13) before having an 8-4 (4-4 conference) year.
Lebby has had 2 even more underwhelming seasons

I really liked Mike Leach, the philosopher, comedian, the guy on the bar stool talking to you. I never had that bar stool opportunity but I can imagine it would have been great.
I couldn't watch Mike Leach the coach work though. It was like watching a snail race, white paint dry, or sitting in a dark room hoping for the electricity to come back on. I hate it ended the way it did, but I'm sorry, I don't see the fun in the Leach football years like you always have.

You must love Lebby ball. It’s exciting. Entertaining. And we lose all the time. Basically the opposite of Leach. Hope you’re enjoying yourself.

Leach record here was 3 games above .500 for heavens sake, 19-16. He was worse in conference less than .500 at 11-14 .440) Explain how that is basically the "opposite"

So far I despise everything about Lebby ball too. You just sit and wait for him to blow another call and game

You are including the Covid year with no spring practice and an all sec schedule to justify your comments. Leach was .500 in the sec in both full years. Amazing. Leach had as many top 25 wins in three years Dan did in his whole career here.

So did every other school. Kiffin and Pittman took over way worse programs but managed to do better in the same time frame as leach

I hate bad faith arguments. Leach’s first season was 10 SEC games and no spring practice. Installing a brand new offense with no spring practice and then an all SEC schedule. And he still beat the defending national champion on their home field in game one and won three SEC games, something Lebby still might not do after three seasons. His two regular non-Covid seasons, we went 4-4 in the SEC both years, and if we had a kicker worth a crap, would’ve gone 5-3 or maybe even 6-2 in one of those years. Dan Mullen’s SEC record here was 33-39 and some of y’all want to crawl to Las Vegas to bring him back. I know this horse has been beat to a skeletal pulp, but I just don’t understand people not enjoying the days when we were actually winning games because it wasn’t “exciting enough.”

This thread is beginning to fill me with Maroon-shaded existential dread.

Yes, we have always sucked at football. Even when we are winning it still pretty much sucks by season's end. (see 2014 --- or most any Mullen campaign after we beat Michigan in the whatever bowl - which was Mullen's legitimate high water mark. Even in our amazing 1980 season we got tripped up by UF and blown out by USM.)

I can't take it any more. Pictures of crazy hot women, PLEASE!

Not every other school was installing a brand new offense with no spring practice. And Sam Pittman did not do better than Leach. Pittman and Leach's overall records were both 19-17 from 2020-2022 (Leach was 20-17 if you count the bowl win after he died) and Leach's SEC record was 11-15 compared to Pittman's 10-16. Kiffin was better at 23-13, 14-11, but in 2022, we had a better season than Ole Miss 9-4 vs 8-5, both finished 4-4 in the SEC and we beat them in Oxford. But of course, since then we are 2-22 in the SEC and 12-25 overall. But at least we have a more exciting offense!

Everybody SEC team played the same covid year type schedule and 9 of them finished ahead of us

Pittman took over a program that hasn’t won an SEC game since 2017. Guess who his first win was against. Both teams were 3-7 in 2020 but Arkansas bowl was cancelled. Pittman 2021 = leach 2022. Both went 9-4 and beat a big 10 team in outback/reliaquest bowl. They went 7-6 in 2022 and we went 7-6 in 2021. Only difference is they won the Liberty Bowl and were not embarrassed by a big 12 school with an interim coach while our coach cried about money from 2009

Leach's last team was one of the better teams in MSU history. 4 losses, two of them to probably the best two teams in the country, Alabama and Georgia, and another to a Top 10 quality LSU.

Here's a data poll ranking us 13th to support that assertion...

Mullen's two best teams in the same poll were 2014 - #14 and 2015 - #10. Because of how those seasons played out I doubt many fans would realize the 2015 team had a similar season quality wise as the 2014 team.

How did this thread go from talking about a person desperately in need of professional help to arguing about Leach vs. Lebby?

Because the only reason we knew who she was before her recent meltdown was her football love affair with Leach and the Air Raid.
