With Mo Williams and if Jamal Crawford comes, will our staff have the most NBA cred in the country ?

It's a big step in the right direction for a change of narrative where Coach Pope is concerned. It will be better, but "most nba cred?" At least you are in the conversation.
But I'll only believe how well it works is when I see it materialize first. And no, I doubt it turns Pope into a recruiting machine.

Wait and see. At least it is much better as a (potential) result. I really like Jamal Crawford, personally. That is a much needed move in the right direction than what we have been relying on.

If Jamal Crawford comes on board and the connections he has at the high school level our recruiting will definitely get a major serious bump not too mention his Big time son

I would be curious to know if there are any staffs with 3 ex-NBA players besides UK. A quick AI search said no but that might not be accurate.

Edit: of course this is if Crawford joins the staff. I couldn’t find any teams with two coaches with actual NBA experience either, but again it was an AI search.

We have two already, Pope managed to put in like five or six years inthe league too.

Crawford is far fresher in the minds especially with the TV work as well, automatic credibility.

Six years I think, so more than a cup of coffee. Would be interesting to come at the “UK gets you to the league” angle from a different perspective than Cal did.

One thing I give Cal credit for is preparing kids for the next level OFF the court more than on. It should be a priority to have someone on staff that is a "life coach" for young millionaires.

I think there's a ton of value to NBA general managers and teams drafting kids that are prepared for the life of a pro athlete. Its college after all and schools should do what they can to prepare students for life after college.

I believe this is very under appreciated by us as fans, and schools that do this best will earn a reputation for getting kids ready for day one as a person, not just a player.

If it makes them better prepared for the next level, it should produce more draft pics and help in recruiting over the long haul.

Cal emphasized this and I believe its a reason why hes such a good recruiter. Its an easy pitch to players and their parents that we will take care of kids and prepare them for real life and the challenges of being filthy rich at such a young age.

I'd like to have that problem but unfortunately, I'm too old and too broke for that. Lol!

That kind of money and lifestyle bring opportunities for lots of bad choices for a kid

Yeah I mean I see your point and I'd love to have Crawford but...we already had Mo for this cycle and I don't know how much he really helped?
I'm still not sold on the staff as long as Mark Fox and the Keegan kid are here
Mo just got here didnt he? Most HS seniors already knew where they were going id say.

I think Williams and Brown have already improved our roster and we have our links everywhere with future players. Crawford would be huge.

Think Mo Williams will really help our guard play like Rod Strickland did for Cal.
