Why is it pronounced “yay” but spelled “yea”
The first time through I thought they were offering tickets to gay alabama fans, and I was like (1) that seems like the wrong person to market to them and (2) no way they have enough stadium capacity for this promotion. Why is it pronounced “yay” but spelled “yea”
We should really keep that for recruiting. What are basically home tickets to the sweet 16 are almost as desirable as a meal from the local mexican restaurant (or less desirable if you're comparing them to the fajitas)? Not sure how often we are battling them for recruits but surely playing in front of fans that care is worth a lot. They couldn't do this if we were playing in their Super. Membership is only $60 per year. How many State fans would pay $60 for 4 tickets to a Super Regional?

Run that same equation with football over the past few years...and not nattys, but just wins. For the amount of $$$$$ MSU has spent on baseball over the years, to have only one National Championship is ridiculous.
Their fight song was written 100 years ago, for context. I think the word "yea" was being used in the affirmative sense, as in a "yea" or "nay" vote. Its not meant to be a celebratory "Hooray", but a supportive "Yes".Why is it pronounced “yay” but spelled “yea”
Football pays for Baseball and everything else. What $$$$ are we spending on football? We have the lowest paid coaching staff in the SEC and are recruiting budget is about 50th in the SEC.Run that same equation with football over the past few years...and not nattys, but just wins.

Shhhhh! He'll hear you.Football pays for Baseball and everything else. What $$$$ are we spending on football? We have the lowest paid coaching staff in the SEC and are recruiting budget is about 50th in the SEC
And it's not because of the product on the field. Imagine if we weren't suckling off the teat of the SEC.Football pays for Baseball and everything else.
Baseball is just a boring product to MOST people. You have your hardcore baseball fans, I get it. I spent most of life somewhat in that group. After being immersed in softball in Texas for past 10 years… and recently taking more of an interest in SEC softball… then go watch baseball it’s almost like torture. Our last regional game vs Louisiana… my wife and I were both like my gosh this is so boring over last two innings. It was painful to watch even though we were doing incredible. The Alabama crowd doesn’t surprise me at all. UGA is worse.
I know someone with more knowledge than myself can probably spit out some numbers demonstrating that baseball is growing by leaps and bounds… but it’s not very bullish from a spectator standpoint. They need to shorten the game to 7 innings, move the fences in or SOMETHING… I’ll leave that discussion to someone else.

Let's just let them play on the softball field. They need to shorten the game to 7 innings, move the fences in or SOMETHING… I’ll leave that discussion to someone else.
Well you do you. I still like baseball more than most people. I have a son who is beginning to play and enjoy the sport. It’s a great game and I think it’s really cool for MSU that we have such a passion for it and have something to legitimately say we are the BEST at it. Watching us win the National Championship with my dad who went to MSU is a memory I’ll cherish forever. You want to know what I do when I don't really care for a sport? I don't watch it. Also, I don't feel the need to comment on posts telling people I don't like it. I don't inject myself into every conversation dealing with that sport and how they/we need to not support it because I don't like it. I don't care for WBB. If you want to watch it go ahead though. I don't care. I don't care to watch track meets. If you want to watch it knock yourself out. It's a pretty simple concept.
It would work for the Rebels though. The first time through I thought they were offering tickets to gay alabama fans, and I was like (1) that seems like the wrong person to market to them and (2) no way they have enough stadium capacity for this promotion.

Cool. I can't wait for your next 5 posts in every baseball thread about how you don't like baseball. We get it already, you need to be easily entertained.Well you do you. I’m just one person’s outlook. I guarantee I start a softball thread I’ll have FAR more people chiming in explaining how to make the sport “better”… it’s great, I love it. Doesn’t mean I have to agree with it. You don’t have to agree with what I say either. It’s ok, really.
Perhaps I didn’t convey what I wanted to in the most effective manner. The thread was about why Alabama has to give tickets away and that there are so many empty seats. I can share from my own personal experience as to why I think that is. Next gen is a completely different situation… their attention span is all of about 5 seconds. You see baseball adjusting itself a lot to deal with this. Pitch clock, limited pick off moves, etc… I’d imagine you will see a LOT more changes coming if attendance remains like this. I’m sure it won’t sit well with many traditionalists.Cool. I can't wait for your next 5 posts in every baseball thread about how you don't like baseball.
