Milan is the best 3pt shooter likley in cbb. Thats all he does - literally like 85-90% of his shots are 3s he doesnt rebound or pass well no defender to speak of. He does do his 1 thing really well though . I take the chance on Stokes any day for same money. Much higher upside with Stokes everywhere but 3s an fts.
It would have been a lot more embarrassing if he had gone to Louisville instead of Kansas.
Might not have won the war, but did win the battle.
I just don't buy all the bulls.hit about Milan only being a shooter. I don't believe that's all the #1 portal player can do.
Good post. I don’t think we could have went wrong either direction. We needed Stokes for the HS and number draft pic perception but Pope is trying to save his job and Milan is a proven player. I’d probably prefer Milan just for his shooting ability but he doesn’t do anything else that good.
Lot's of recency bias here - Stokes will be the first pick of the draft. This is a tough one. Milan has seniority, and is much more mature. He's more of a role player, Stokes can do many more things well. Coin flip.
You believe what you like . Hes just a 3 pt shooter. he doesnt even really shoot anything but 3s ( check his game logs) . Averaged like 3 rebounds and 1 assist no defense you speak of . Unsure on if he "can" do there I just know what hes done and thats shoot 3s really well n not much else.
I think you are trying to make getting the #1 transfer, some how seam like a not so great get. Good luck with that, he will be a good one.

Even Pope wanted Stokes. Mom was a backup option that even then barely worked. Seeing how everyone is going crazy over one recruit confuses me on the way people were sick of Cal getting all the recruits with nothing to show for it.
Now we got Pope who finally lands a top recruit and y'all act like he won the championship already. He's not getting recruits or winning.

Milan is clearly better for next years team. Stokes would’ve been more of a perception thing with pope landing the top recruit. But the downside was there, if we struggled and stokes sat out or if he just didn’t live up to the hype that would almost certainly be the nail in popes coffin.
Why did Nate Oats recruit Alex Wilkins and Tommy Lloyd recruit Zoom Diallo if they are not “good players?”
Gives us an example of a college player who went from a bad or average defensive player into one that knows how to play defense at a championship level. That seems like a nebulous standard without some example of what you mean. We all saw players improve defensively over the past two years (examples being Brea and Chandler) but I don’t know what you mean by defense played by an individual at championship level.
I did, go back and look in past post. I wanted the experience, if we're getting a one and done either way. Just makes more since then Stokes, there is a reason Duke didn't even give him the time of day.

Momcilovic is a MUCH better get for this team and coach. Pope has all the right guys to play the style shown with his previous teams. Plus much better shooting at the four that was much needed as well as an experienced point guard and highly talented 2 guard in Wilkins. Pope and the staff want to use Moreno as an Amari Williams type player with more upside and strength. All seems like an offense that can be successful under Pope, but only time will tell.
MM is safer. Stokes has more upside. Stokes has never gone a year anywhere he has been without issues. Maybe this is the year but past performance suggests otherwise. We shall see.
Oh it is definitely a twist because that says he whiffed on some good players. No where does it say he didn’t get a few good ones. Are you disputing he didn’t whiff on good players or are you disputing that he got a few good players? Try harder
