Seton Hall will finally have a team in the TBT tournament this summer. Whitehead, Carrington, Desi, Ant Nelson, Romaro Gil, Darnell Brodie, & KC Ndefo.

They play Syracuse in late July
Nice lineup. We get to see IW AND KC together, two of my favorite Pirates. Still get a smile thinking of that team. Prof Ed and I remember some nice conversations with Desi's Mom at the games.

Make them scrimmage against our current team and show them how it’s done. Except Romaro would probably annihilate whoever lines up at center.

I do not recall ever watching the TBT, what is the quality of play?

Based on ticket sales, seems there is some interest from the SHU fanbase.

Just wanted to bump this up.

Ryan is working incredibly hard with the school to promote this event. It's both time consuming and expensive. We can help by purchasing tickets and ensuring a full house for the first game.

Here's the link to buy tickets.....

If Delgado plays I may have to fly out from Denver for this one

Syracuse has 6 players committed so far that I’ve read. You have to read articles. It appears that one site isn’t updated

They already have a team. A quality team and need to raise money to support them. Travel cost. Meal cost. Housing cost for the entire tournament are financial needs. I will be donating money. I at least hope our readers here buy tickets to the game and pass on word of the contest. It's the least we can do.

Since I am now involved with the process I will be posting updates as they come available.

Pls do not turn this thread into a negative. If you have nothing positive to add then move on to another subject.

Your post was deleted because I clearly requested no one post anything negative. You almost imm ignored that and in this case it will not be tolerated.

This thread is posted to aid the school. If you are not onboard with that as I said do not comment here.

Pls heed my warning as there will not be another.

Bought these tix the minute the link came out. Those dudes saved the program from the gutter. I’m not missing a chance to watch them again.
It’s a no-brainer at this price point to watch some of the former players that saved Willard’s job and gave us enjoyable memories. And Cuse is likely to have some solid names from the past as well.

Generally what is quality of play in TBT? Do these games usually draw or is it more of a tv viewing event? I have never followed in prior years.

Read an article that I believe said last year's final drew like 9,000+. Not sure about earlier rounds.

Vinnie from the SHU Booster Club will be talking to Ryan to discuss how the club can help. Maybe by setting up a meet and greet with the players. I will keep everyone adv re any details.

Ask the guys to help with a season ticket sales event ahead of the game while they're in town.

Invite people who were STHs, frequent SGBs, maybe even students when they played to the event as current prospective buyers. Have a happy hour style event with drinks and light food, throw up a quick presentation on season tickets, ask the guys to speak about how important the fans were to them as players and how buying season tickets really makes a difference, then go mingle with the attendees while the sales reps go around answering questions and closing deals. Even buy the attendees tickets to the TBT event, that cost is offset even by bringing in just a handful of new season ticket holders - and I'd bet such an event would have a pretty strong close rate.

It's something I'd do if I were in charge of rev gen at least

No. This tournament is in no way sponsored by Seton Hall.

Ryan is setting up a link to accept donations. I reached out to SHU fans and we have already raised about $2000 or so to help finance the event. I'll post that link when available.
