My heart wants one thing but my mind is telling me another. I like to follow my heart. State wins the first 2 and headed to Omaha.

We haven’t hit Georgia solidly in any of the four games we played them. Since they swept us, our guys have done a lot better job of hitting to the opposite side rather than pull fast balls.

It all depends on the injuns, is their grip only strong with football and basketball or can baseball breakaway like 2021.

We lead all regionals in batting avg and OPS. Granted that was against far less talented arms than UGA. But maybe we will ride the momentum to Omaha

We advance. I think we had some clubhouse problems with Teel mid season combined with McPherson’s injury that held us back. I feel like the team has come together (noting the Coach/Parker exchange after winning the regional as a piece of evidence), GA having the ejections for game 1, and us having McPherson back pushes us to Omaha.

State in 2.

I trust Brian O’Connor in the postseason. 7-2 all time in Supers.

I personally think we NEED to win it in 2 because if it goes to Game 3, I think their pitching depth is better than ours. But our best two starters are better than their best two.

Can a team beat another team 6 times in a college baseball season … Yep, but it’s not happening this time, Hail State takes 2 of 3 and moves on to Omaha. So shall it be written, so shall it be done!

I’ve thought about this too. We have made plate adjustments, and I expect us to hit Georgia better than we have.

I’m going with my heart and what’s possible. TV and then RM and 2-0.

I’m not sure what makes almost everyone here think we are somehow a totally different team than the one that already lost 4. Hard for a team to win 6 straight back to back, but these aren’t back to back. We just aren’t there yet. Great season, though either way. Georgia goes 2-0.

I'll tell you after Game 1.

We have one the very best starting college pitchers in the country on the mound Saturday, but Georgia pitching has confounded our hitters for the large majority of 4 games. That's gotta change.

I don't know we lost by 1, 2, and then 3 runs in extra innings back in early April without our Friday guy. We lost by 2 to them in the SEC tournament pitching our real #3 guy.

You think we aren't 1-2 runs better in June with Oak post season success, TV dealing and their suspensions in game 1? Got to get game 1 for this to happen. All the pressure is on GA.

Perhaps but Liberty U held them to 6 runs with their game 4 pitching. I think we are going to have to score 6 to beat them in game 1 and if we can't game 3 isn't going to matter.

Good points. You could be spot on. I sure hope so.

It's actually my logical mind that says we sweep the first two. We're playing well right now and have enough pitching to be elite for 2 games. Got a bunch of lefties who can go yard more easily. Stumpy and Phelps being out obviously. Statistically hard to beat teams 5 or 6 times in a row.

My heart says we get an outstanding pitching performance and lose 2-1 on Saturday and then fall apart 14-4 on Sunday.

We hit like we did this weekend you gotta like our chances. Our pitching will be the best it's been all season.

Hopefully BOC can keep everyone loose - but focused.

UGA will be playing tight, pressing at the plate and they will end up committing a couple of costly errors.

And we make 'em pay.
  • Game one: State 6-3
  • Game two: State 4-1
