Good news, bad news for those of us watching the Super on TV

I like Ben and don’t mind Eduardo. Maybe it’s just because I associate Eduardo with the CWS broadcasts, but him being there is a sign that it’s big time baseball.

I'm in exactly the same boat. When I hear or think of Perez, I specifically remember this:

I associate Eduardo with kicking his *** in the 1990 regional so he doesn't bother me.

I think the frustration is that he does not call regular season college baseball. Hell, he wasnt on a call for a regional this past weekend. Just floats in for super and CWS. At least Ravach called regular season college baseball this year.

When I think of Eduardo, I think of when the camera man scanned over to the brunette and Eduardo said "Oh yeah." He then tried to save himself by saying something along the lines of "The nails are still attached."

Eduardo is terrible.

Don’t know how much exposure our fans have had to Mike Monaco but I like him on PxP. Younger guy but they’ve started using him for college baseball the last few years and I think he’s really good.

I don't have the patience to watch baseball on tv, but with Perez on, I won't have the patience to even listen. I'll have Neil and Jay on I guess. Hell, I'd even rather listen to Polk exhaling heavily through his whistling nostrils rather than Perez annoying voice babble on

I don't mind Ed, but would prefer KP over Ben. I don't put a ton into liking or disliking announcers though, unless it's Beth Mowins.

Big fan of Ben McDonald on the call. I don't hate Perez like some do, but it is annoying that other guys that spend the year covering it get bumped out of the postseason (especially the CWS) for him when he hasn't called a college game all season.

This is my issue with Perez also. It bothers me that tv broadcasts can make it so fake and since Perez doesn't follow it throughout the season it's all fake. For me it goes back to my one an only big broadcast experience in the 1981 CWS. They are shooting B-roll stuff and they say to me "talk about why they call you the Big Bambino". No one had ever called me the Big Bambino prior to that moment. Now we were not as broadcast savvy as today's players because it never happened to us. So I try to fake it and say some about how I am from NY and maybe i'm the closest thing to someone like that in Mississippi. A horrible answer. Sure enough in one of the games they set it up and play it. It was just so fake it bothered me.

Eddie Perez is probably still having flashbacks of getting his a$$ doubled off of first base in the 1990 regional. Didn’t like him then and don’t like him now.

The one positive thing about the SB team getting bounced out of Okie City is that we only had to suffer Beth Mowins two times. But again, thank goodness for the Mute button on the remote!!

Almost hate to admit it, but Delongchamps did a good job last week. He was kind of cheeky but he was very fair and positive for both teams regardless of who was playing. He obviously di his homework on our team.
