Naw never really was the party type. But I'm curious why somebody has to be a terrible person or not fun at a party if they aren't overly positive or even slightly positive about Pope.

The guy sucks and there's no spinning it.
You seem angry. Life got ya down? Relax and enjoy life.

Bunch of weirdo geeks on here lmao. If you don't worship 9th seeds and 14 losses you gotta be miserable and hate your life.

More like life is good and I still have enough passion to care about UK being good. Maybe the ones accepting what is happening with UK are the ones that life beat down so bad they don't have the energy or passion left for anything. Just got enough energy to accept it and not say anything. Wave your pom poms at Rupp..I'll be one booing with the other ones when I witness suck.

20 ppg is incredibly unrealistic. He wasnt the focal point of Iowa State's offense last season, nor should he be ours. He will have nights where he torches the nets, and nights where he's completely contained. You folks acting like he's our savior and gonna be the piece that takes us to a Final Four are just not living in reality.

Oweh isn't a glue guy like MM and he didn't stretch the floor like Milan can. You're talking about a guy who hit 137 threes at a 48% clip. He was also a leader and great locker room guy at Iowa state and a big reason for the culture of that team.
I get that they bring different things. But regardless Oweh gave you 20 points every night. I'll take production all day when it comes to sports. Oweh also wasn't the locker room problem this year. I'd have to say it was Mo and the guy that went back to Florida where he wanted to be anyway.

It's just a little disappointing to hear about this guy like he's the best portal player in America and the best shooter in college basketball history and he's not even a 20 ppg player.

Maybe his locker room vibes will boost the rest of the team? And I totally agree with what you said. Just figured he was coming in to be a star. Not a role player. He was juiced up for the last two weeks to be a star. Savior. Do or die for Poop. But in reality he's another role players that can shoot good.

He will be a star. He's not a role player. The dude is one the best shooters in NCAA history. He was a top 5 finalist for the best small forward in college basketball last season. He's 6 foot 8 and shot over 50% from 3 in big 12 play. Never been done before him.

Watching back Iowa state games and it’s crazy how little touches Milan got. Against Kentucky I’m watching ever play saying to myself “ Milan will for sure shoot this one “ and like 80% of the time I’m wrong and Tamin Lipsey will shoot it.

so on a really good spacing, ball handling and passing kentucky team where Milan is open to shoot 10+ threes a game I think he could easily score 20+
Are you one of the three dog night guys. Corey was great. One is the lonelisis number.

Serious question....
Cal was the greatest recruiter in history, and still does great in NIL. But Cal still misses on kids, and he can pay them now, its not just his NBA speech that hooks kids. So whike you downgrade Momcilovic, the fact is he was the top player in the portal. If we DIDN'T make the highest offer, do you think the kid is taking less to play here?
The issue is the amount of money it takes. Without NIL Pope would be a historically bad recruiter. When the money dries up we are toast. We were told the big money goes to Stokes or no one else. Then it was looking so bad again, someone came up with the money to give to Milan to avoid another disaster year. Now we are top 20 good but not elite by any stretch. We had to pay up for everyone and still lost out on so many players we were rumored to lead on then after a long delay they go somewhere else. Pope posted some dumb picture at the beach like he did something special. Dude you paid more money than almost any player has ever gotten to the third best player on a good Iowa state team last year. Milan is not going to be first team all sec and we are not top 4 sec. The mighty have fallen. We need to reset ourselves with a competent coach. Next thing you know he will be talking about our team as a Ferrari and then crying at a press conference a month later after Louisville runs us again.

Its not just about scoring 20. He has a well rounded offensive game. But most importantly, he is one of the greatest 3 point shooters in NCAA HISTORY. Oweh scored 20 per game, but teams almost dared him to shoot that knuckleball 3, and olayed him to always drive. That will never be the case with Momcilovic, and he is a matchup nightmare at 6'8". He fixes the biggest problem this team had in a massive way
According to most analysts he is a good shooter and that is about it. If he had a well rounded offensive game he would be in the NBA draft. He is limited athletically and on the defensive end. Not a good slasher at all on offense. He is a taller koby brea and that is ok certainly but not anywhere near what he is paid to be. At the number we paid he should be a first team all American and that he certainly is not.

I've watched quite a bit of Iowa State the past two seasons, mainly because of Momcilovic being on that team. He scored *i think* 28 points a couple times last year, those were his highs, and a low point was definitely the NCAAT loss to Tennessee.

He most likely won't score enough to average 20 points because of the defensive focus on him, it'll be focused on doing what the Vols did... and what did they do ?

They face guarded him, heavily geared towards denying him the ball and stayed close to him the entire game. He scored only 6 points. They switched onto him and kept seperation at a minimum.

Iowa State really couldn't counter the defensive focus on him, Jefferson was hobbled. So Iowa State became a one trick pony, by and large, and the Vols beat them.

Momcilovic has a deft step back and a Dirk Nowitzki like fadeaway shot that he can hit from all over the court. He has poise shooting it, he can get his shot off with a sidestep as well, and at his range, you gotta have a big guy on him. He's a matchup problem for everyone.

But the Vols showed how he can be contained - and provided noone else can truly step up in the games when Milan is being heavily harassed ( count on that being EVERY GAME ) ..... we have to understand that and prepare accordingly, and other players are going to have to pick it up and reel in the slack.
The difference is that the guy drawing the attention away from him was hurt so he didn't have his shield. Jefferson got him several open shots because defenses had to focus on Jefferson. He is Trent Noah with confidence if you can understand his lack of mobility and athletic ability.

He's a great shooter, no question, but he is also human (not a robot) and will be a huge focus on defense by opponents. Hopefully, his last game last year, the biggest of their season, was just an off-night and an outlier. The Vols clamped down on him. Only 6 points, on 2-9 shooting. No rebounds in 33 minutes for a 6'8" player is also alarming ... we will definitely need him to help on the boards.
If he plays the 3 he will have a hard time guarding. He doesn't care because he touched money.

I’m honestly seeing Justin McBride or Ousmane getting Milan a lot touches in that Jefferson role

I hope he plays small forward for us and not the 4 ... we need more rebounding than Milan provides.
