That I frittered my life away, not making billions, so I can use it to try to buy a national championship like Texas Tech. It’s sad that I would let y’all down like I have did. I hope y’all can forgive me.

BTW, it’s not working! Tex-azz has opened an early ‘can’ on the rich girls to lead 5-1 in the top of the 2nd inning.

I have soft balls, but you don't have to apologize for it. All men have soft balls. Some carry on like their balls are made of steel, but they will bend over just like every other man if he gets a swift kick in them. ******

Interesting re softball. Saw where our 1st baseman (basewoman?) from Brookhaven was on youth teams from 10U with one of the Texas Tech players from McComb. I suspect that team won a lot of games.

All of the TX schools will succeed much more than others if NIL and transfer portal continues as is.
There’s a certain school in Dallas that is pulling a lot of strings to catapult them way ahead.

Serious question...

How much NIL do you think it takes to build a roster that competes at the highest level? $1M?

A friend of mine who is in sports media mentioned $1M for the Texas Tech pitcher ace pitcher alone. No other details (timeframe etc), just $1M.

It's pretty well known that Texas Tech paid their pitcher $1million per season. I imagine they paid the other All-American players they poached from other teams a lot of money as well. I mean, they took All-American players from UCLA, Florida, and Tennessee. You don't pry top players away from national championship contending teams without paying a lot of money. This was all funded by some billionaire oilman booster whose wife played softball at Texas Tech.

Was happy to see Texas win. Lubbock is widely considered the armpit of Texas. Nobody WANTS to go there and the city and campus smell like a toilet. If we get a good player and say she’s worth $500k in the portal, Texas tech will come along and pay them far more to go to their cesspool of a place. They aren’t building something good out of their own merits… just a billionaire overpaying everyone to win at all costs. It would be like Elon musk setting up at southern miss and paying all of our best, om best and lsu best baseball players $5 million a piece to go play there and them dominating us.

Texas Tech paid all that money only to lose to 17'n Texas two years in a row in the championship series.

That's a real kick in the ovaries...

Texas tech is an extremely annoying fanbase too. Starved for attention of being the red headed step child. Their whole thing is to try to start up fights with everyone like pay attention to us damnit. Every single person I’ve ever met from that school is like this. Texas and Texas A&M fans are actually very cool and classy for most part. That’s been my experience at least.

It's funny that a MSU fan would despise Texas Tech because how everyone feels about them is exactly how people feel about us. If we had a generous donor bump our performance up, they'd say the same thing. Important to remember that.

Im speaking in generalities but MSU fans are almost NOTHING like Texas tech fans. I’ve been married to an Aggie my entire adult life. We’ve been around the block in terms of college sports. Nobody that I know respects Texas tech fans or Lubbock. Texas and Texas A&M fans are ten times classier and more respectful. There are exceptions of course. We can agree to disagree or perhaps we’re talking about different things.

You must not have lived in Texas. All of the Texas Tech grads I worked with in Midland may have well have gone to State.

I didn't read this before posting but go figure you'd assume two of the worst fan bases in the country are classy.

Guess we all have our own experiences. I had preconceived biases about Texas Longhorns before I moved to Texas. I thought they were super arrogant and rude. From having met many who actually graduated from there… I truly cannot find a nicer/cooler group of folks.

Texas A&M is too nice for SEC. We have attended many games there and any time someone sees my MSU shirt they are so polite and cordial and like Howdy welcome to College Station etc. I talked to my wife about that and she’s like yeah Aggies don’t tolerate rude behavior etc.

We went to Lubbock one time. You know those places you drive through that have a paper mill where it stinks beyond words where you hate inhaling it… THATS Lubbock. 100%. Their fans are rude and always seek out confrontation. Their players are too. They are NOTHING like Texas and Texas A&M fans I know. Not even remotely close.

I lived in Austin for 13 years. Cannot agree with this, other than the aTm bit. Before Austin was Houston. 25 years of texas.
