Who gaf if we had to out pay other programs for good players?! That’s the name of the game now. At least as it’s currently constructed. Wtf else would you recommend UK do in order to build a good roster?! Some of y’all are absolutely insufferable.
That’s the name of the game. We pay up or we become irreverent. I just hope we come up with some kind of competitive payroll like the pros now. It’s kinda ridiculous how it’s set up. Along with no unlimited transfers.

I just wish Kentucky would over pay for two or three stars instead of one

I believe everyone agrees that Pope will not only have talent, but talent that fits his system. He is getting a fair shot to succeed. If this team has a repeat of chemistry issues and/or doesn't perform then he deserves to be fired. If he takes a talented team to a Great 8 or Final 4 then he deserves to keep his job and have fan support. If not, he deserves the consequences.

Goodman said in a podcast that he thought he wanted to spend time with his family cuz he wouldn't be seeing them for quite a while and he wanted to set it aside and be with his family
Good for him, if true. Pushing the pause button to spend time with family makes sense. He definitely took himself out of the spotlight by not making any comment during the process. I think UK is truly getting a pro, in every sense.

I would say there is a 50:50 chance you are wrong. The SEC is loaded but this UK team could still be in the top 4. We’re gonna see.
ok so what happens if and when we aren't? we need to get our expectations straight here.
After last season, the standard needs to be re-established.

I am not about to make predictions about a team or a league I have yet to see. I can predict what Florida may look like. But there is so much changeover in college basketball I cannot begin to guess what the upper half of the SEC will look like. It could be a runaway winner with a bunched up pack or could be a battle between a 3-4 schools for the No. 1 seed in the SEC tourney. If the SEC looks like UF and a bunch of mid-level conference schools, being No. 2 wont matter much and won’t provide much chest pumping for anyone. I prefer to see the team before setting expectations. The standard is to be in the hunt. That said, one of Cal’s most fun run was not a conference smash. Getting to the final game as a bubble team was a great finish to a year that was bad until mid-conference. Expectation? Nope. Success? Yup.

I disagree. Regardless of strength of conference. Being a top tier SEC program absolutely matters

If SEC is weak, we should be one of the top teams.
If SEC is tough, we should be one of the top teams.

Bellyaching over how hard the SEC is doesn't work for me. That's Barnhart bullsh*t. Save that for the football team
