Certainly fumbled the ball there for sure. However it could be worse. Growing up I always saw USC in the CWS. Its been 20 years since they've been to a SR.

Only if we hire someone who can have us prepared to play situational baseball. It's been a long time since we've had a team like that and every team in the supers are better at it than we are... and it ain't even close.

The other USC. When I was a kid they were always good. Along with ASU, Wichita state, Miami. USC is going to SR for first time in 20 years.
The #1 & #2 national seeds fell in their hosted regionals in both 2025 & 2026. Parity?
I think you meant Southern Cal is going, not USC. Not the same thing.
Hope history doesn't repeat itself and it takes 20 years for us, a once dominant program, to get back to a SR.
There's a LOT more interest and competition in College Baseball now than there was when the Trojans were dominant.
On a rather different topic, one thing they and UCLA do which I like is collaborate on an early-season weekend, where they invite two schools to LA (usually out of region). On Friday, one school plays the Bruins on UCLA's home field, and the other school, SoCal on the Trojans' home field. On Saturday, the visitors switch. On Sunday, Dodger Stadium hosts a doubleheader. The first game is between the two visitors. The second Is between SoCal and UCLA. I know the Georgia Bulldogs went there one year.
Georgia Tech, Georgia State, and Kennesaw State tried something similar a few years ago. For opening weekend, they collaborated, inviting three schools to the Atlanta area, and each visiting team would play one game in each local team's park. I think that only lasted for a season or two.

How about Skyler Meade going to Omaha with Troy. I think I have me a team to pull for. That said, I've always kinda liked WV too. No SEC team for me this year.
I was watching part of the St. John's Alabama game Saturday night where the announcers mentioned current SEC schools and the four with the longest drought of not making it to Omaha:

Did you just stop watching Carolina baseball or something? USC was in a Super Regional as recently as 2023.
Edit: I saw you clarified that you were referring to Southern California later in the thread. You should know that USC is South Carolina on a Gamecocks message board (lol).
So we are all set. We have arguably the best 4 SEC teams remaining playing in one bracket. Worth mentioning an SEC team will be in the finals.Then we have one SEC team in the other bracket. Arguably a weaker SEC team suggesting there is a good chance a non SEC team will get in. Anyway, looks like they did all they could to avoid an all SEC matchup. Yeah I know that's just how it played out, but it kinda sucks if you're in what looks like a much tougher bracket than the other
