Do you remember God Fathers all you can eat on Sunday nights? In the 80s there use to be The Dill Pickle on Iowa Ave. Downtown blows now there is no Hardee's, BK or Arbys at the Old Capitol Mall.
My dad would take us to the Dill a couple times a season after football games when we were young.

I was pissed it was no longer by the time I got to college.

I think it was Home Team pizza that had a large 1 topping for 4 bucks back in the day. You didn't even need an Ad Sheet coupon to get that deal.

I make it down to Pullmans or the crepe place once or twice a year. Taste of Iowa City is usually a must for me too.
Yes, Home Team. $5 would get you the pizza and tip the driver. Had that for dinner almost every Sunday night for two school years.

I'm seeing 156/Silence. But I did notice that Piss Nuke was supposed to be one of the openers, however I read somewhere that they have been replaced lol

Bummer. Ever since I learned they existed(20 minutes ago), I've been intrigued.

For those that are still learning like me, don't mistake the band Piss Nuke with the song Piss Nuke, by the Fart Throwers.

Greasy burger. Plastic bag of pork rinds. Cold beer. Perfect. Did you get all fancy while I’ve been gone or somethin’?!

(Yes, I saw NTTAWWT - just ribbing)
Me fancy? I’m the guy that smothers my ribeye in Heinz ketchup. Not any ketchup but only Heinz ketchup. I guess that does make me a little fancy after all. Remember my motto is “ if it takes longer to cook than to eat “, you’re wasting finite life minutes…

Wig & Pen is solid if you want pizza. Good sandwiches on the menu as well.
Agreed with this, better in Coralville, I’ve taken out the pizza on east side and it’s not the same when it gets home. Especially fly tomato, haven’t had their sandwiches for awile but it was always good in the past.

I also like old vine over new vine. Wings are awesome there

A second mention for Basta.
Incidentally, it's Arts Fest downtown this weekend. There will be lots of walking around food options for the OP.

Yeah i took a peek at some of the food vendors a little bit ago. Looks like some decent regional/ethnic food options with some of those.
