First to sign CSC agreement.
For those who clamor for an enforcement of rules applying to NIL, this could be the tool to use.
Now let's see if the other conferences sign on.

The Big 12 is becoming the first Power Four conference to have each of its members sign participation agreements with the College Sports Commission, the agency formed last year to police name, image and likeness payments.

SEC used to be cutting edge but leadership is lacking or has gotten lazy.
I'm leaning towards the lazy option. The time has come or is fast approaching that the chest pumping "We're the best conference" talking point move beyond talk and display results on the field. Specifically in the CFP. It also wouldn't hurt to change the perception that the B1G is dictating the parameters of the CFP format while the SEC looks to be on the defensive on this issue.

May be laziness but I question Sankey's leadership.
I wouldn't mind seeing Saban in that position.

Commissioner Greg Sankey and other prominent figures were adamant that they remain, by far, the country's best conference.

GREG SANKEY INSISTS SEC IS 'STRONGEST LEAGUE' DESPITE BIG TEN WINNING THREE STRAIGHT NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

There are some who agree with that sentiment, and others who don't, and based on some comments made by FOX Sports analyst Joel Klatt, he's squarely in the latter category. Why? Because Nick Saban's retired, and the conference can't ride his "big old coattails" anymore.

Just go ahead and create the super conference and operate it like the NFL. Teams can be independently owned and can pay the schools for using their facilities and the name on the jersey. The majority of the other schools don't have a chance to compete at that level anyway. The super Conference will come it’s just a matter of time.

SEC and B1G are fixated on money, end of story.
Lol of course they are as is everyone, you and I included. What I'm saying is that 'The SEC' believes the means to that end is good ole boy status quo and utilizes the practice I cited among others. Which I would file under lazy in lieu of a category more descriptive.
