Will other players listen to him? That seemed to be the problem last season, we had several upperclassmen from the portal and this team did not seem to like each other. I've suspected the culprit to be Oweh, so maybe we won't have that issue now.

I would have rather had this kid than any recruit HS or transfer in the country. Perfect fit. Just a great recruiting class IMO

Last year’s team was dysfunctional. When we got behind, they lost their willingness to compete. Oweh was to be a team leader, but it seemed as if there were issues with he and Aberdeen and Dioubate. That team showed no fight, would get down in games and then get blown out.
I hope we got all the negativity flushed out without Oweh, DA, MD, and head case Garrison.
Losing Lowe and JQ should be addition by subtraction.
I want to know if last season was an anomaly, was it a perfect storm of bad components and roster construction? Pope showed promise in his first season. Maybe last year was the outlier.
We should know what kind of team we have before Christmas.

Maybe so. It was a bad mix of guys. I do think Oweh over valued his skill in the 2nd year. That preseason SEC MVP may have went to his head.

Agree. I don’t think it was Oweh. The year before they seemed to get along great but whatever “it” was affected him at times. It showed in his body language and effort every now and then.
