The ability to not be phased by the big names, such as Trey Yesavage, Kyson Witherspoon, Jamie Arnold, Joey Volini, Derek Clark and the list goes on, has been a calling card of Jesse Weirzbicki’s lineup preparation.

Glad Colin got a nod, too. Obvious HR heroics, but his catching was also a nice safety blanket all weekend.
Yep, Colin's been terrific. Hope Macon gets well enough to get behind the plate soon. May need him there some.

To win the region of death and three games shows how strong this team really is. It looks like a serious contender for the national championship.

Because we haven't won it all, there's this narrative that UNC baseball constantly chokes in the postseason, like we constantly lose to lesser teams more than other programs.

It's happened a few times, but since 2006, we've hosted 14 regionals and won 12 of them (85.7%), only losing in 2012 and 2017. When I did a deep dive a couple years ago, I think 1 seeds only win ~65% of regionals. That is performing way above expectation in this round.

Not until the Davidson loss(es) in 2017, IMO, did any such perception exist. What remains of it dates directly from that most unhappy event in Chapel Hill.
