Posted in Omaha matchup pods. 10 SEC teams still alive, but only 5 have officially advanced. Of course the only perfect pod was the 3-14-6-11 which we are a part of.

Cal Poly at Kentucky or West Virginia
Little Rock at Troy or Florida

Texas A&M
or USC at North Carolina
Milwaukee at Ole Miss OR Ole Miss at Auburn

Mississippi State
at Georgia
Oregon at Texas

St. John's at Alabama
Oklahoma
at Kansas OR Kansas at Georgia Tech

That USC vs AM game starts at 9 PM. (at College Station)...Guess I'll find out about the final results of that tomorrow.

I'd like to be in the room when, NCAA and ESPN is planning this stuff out.
Just to see what is said. (yes I know USC is involved). Still...a late start for a Monday game.

That Oklahoma comeback yesterday was pretty epic. Down 8-2 when they drop an 8 spot on GT in the bottom of the 4th. Don't allow another run and end up scoring 13 runs unanswered to win 15-8.

Be interesting to see how things play out today.

I guess I'm just now realizing we are seeing the 3, 6 and 9pm slots emerge due to TV.

Here I was feeling sleepy from a 7pm start lol.

Down goes FSU. Guess it will be St. John's going to Alabama for the SR. FSU outhit SJU 9 to 3 in the game but still lost 5-4.

Grand slam was pretty big.

FSU with the 2 run HR in the 9th to make them sweat.

Two 4 seeds to the Supers.

Alabama fans are real happy with this result.

This is the first time in the current postseason format, which has been around since 1999, that two 4 seeds have advanced to super regionals in the same year. If Milwaukee beats Auburn tonight, that will make it three. Just a crazy regional weekend.

Also the first time in the format there will be no return teams to the CWS from the previous year.

They need to reseed after the regionals. This is dumb. It wouldn’t be hard to do.
If they re-seeded after regionals, assuming the higher seed wins remaining games and unseeded teams are seeded via RPI, we'd be two upsets out of A&M, Florida, Auburn and Georgia Tech from hosting

St. John's at Georgia Tech
Little Rock at Georgia
Cal Poly at Auburn
Ole Miss at North Carolina
West Virginia at Texas
Kansas at Alabama
Mississippi State at Florida
Texas A&M at Oregon

does that get determined by pre-regional seeding?
In one case, it doesn’t matter. Kentucky and Cal Poly are both 3-seeds. They do not seed beyond the first 16 teams. The regionals are called “regionals” for a reason.

But even if they followed the S-Curve all the way through, Cal Poly by rule would be the strongest 3-seed, since they were in the #1 overall seed’s regional (thus matched against the weakest 2-seed in Va Tech). So if that was the case, they would host Kentucky.

That makes way more sense than what we have now.

On SEC now they said no super regional is guaranteed. There is a bidding process. Traditionally it has gone to the highest seed but it is not guaranteed.
Would Kentucky be guaranteed to host Cal Poly?

Would Troy be guaranteed to host Little Rock?
they said on SEC now this morning they have to put in a bid to get that super region. I believe that happened a while ago to us when we won our region and Vandy won their region Vandy ended up getting it. Neither was number one in the region but we ended up going to Vandy. Henderson might have been our coach that season.
