To be expected of course in the offseason.

With that said, while I am an advocate of Spread offenses (which ain't gonna happen here), Comrade Lester deserves credit for making progress with the system he has in place.
He is managing to make incremental progress dragging us out of the Offensive Abyss that had the nation pointing and laughing.

Wasn't a fan of his hiring, but we ARE at least better now.
A highly mobile, noninjured, QB (Hecklinski) is a big plus.

well, I am sorry for being so reticent lately, but I was told by a fellow poster to "go away" after starting two Nebraska conversations last month.

So, I guess that the First Amendment has been revoked, so I will just go and hibernate.

They told you to go away because you said you were going to be a Nebraska fan.

Just don't be a Nebraska fan and you'll be fine. 🙂

In fact, that's a life lesson all parents should teach their children.

Nah, post away!
While not an Authority Figure on here, I can state that the 1st Amendment is still in effect (yet).

Do we think Comrade Lester’s QB choice will pass for over or under 2k yards?

haven’t had a QB do that since 2019…
Over easily. Considering the last qb Iowa had that wasn't either physically/mentally/fundamentally broken hit that mark I feel like either Heck or Brown should clear it. It's only 154 yards a game over a 13 game season. Toss in a 200 yard performance just for giggles and you have a little wiggle room.

I am not in favor of Iowa running a spread offense. However, a team MUST be able to throw the ball. Running the ball 90%+ as one poster on here wants, is just not going to win games against quality Big 10 opponents.

I want the Hawks to compliment the run game with an effective passing attack and have a quarterback who makes good decisions, and is able to complete a high percentage of his passes.

The Hawks have discovered in the last several years, you don't need much of a passing game to win a lot of games. But you can't beat anyone that's good.

Last year they had a very pedestrian passing games and lost only 4 games (by a total of 15 points) including 2 playoff teams and the National Champion.

Just think what the Hawks could do with a "good" passing game?

As for it being quiet - I for 1 don't come on as often since they took away the OT board. I used to check daily the Hawkeye news in each category and then get some laughs at the OT board. Without the laughs I don't come in here daily anymore.
This is me too.

Liar. On the old site you once commented that you would run the ball at least 90% of the plays.

Of course, it’s convenient for you to deny it NOW, since it is not possible to pull that old post up. It wouldn’t matter anyway, since you would just say you were mischaracterized, and would write a rambling diatribe explaining why you didn’t say it, even though you really did.

You aren’t fooling anyone, and I’m not getting drawn in to another of your p*ssing matches. Readers of this thread can decide for themselves who to believe.

My conversation with you on this is now closed.

(Don’t even try to deny you said it….you are always saying “run the ball” and post laugh emojis on posts that mention improving the passing game or talk about having an effective passing attack. Again…you aren’t fooling anyone.)

You are the poster I relate to the most of anyone on here. Don't let that buffoon rile you up. Just appreciate him for what he is: the best free entertainment on the web since Kilroy vanished.

How about Hecklinski for 2250 and Phillips / Moulton combine for 2000?

It's also convenient for you to be able to now mischaracterize. Wish the archives were transferred over. Although I'm sure nobody cares.

You imply a lot from 3 words (run the ball) and emojis. You have quite the imagination.

What exactly, did you imply from the times I had to break down for you guys, that although it would make me very happy if Iowa ran the ball a lot more, and although, if I had a program of my own I'd love to be able to run it 90% of the time, I understand that you have to build your entire program in that way?

I understand that KF's program isn't built that way. And I don't expect Iowa to run the ball as much as I would in my fantasy situation. I support everything about how KF runs and has built his program.

Surely you remember those posts of delineation, as you've been emoji stalking nearly every one of my posts for years.

So, clearly I recognize the value of the run game. I don't know why that's so triggering to so many. It does not also mean I don't understand the value the passing game. It's just not my style of ball.

But my point about the passing game has always been that it's not as important as fans believe it to be.

But moreso, and in relation to Hawkeye football, my point has been that the lack of a potent passing game, or any passing game at all, has in no way been significant enough to justify the amount of negativity that the program has taken for it.

All KF has done, is win for near the entirety of 26 years, and that's all that matters. He's done it with a distinct style, that hasn't happened to be very dynamic in the passing game, but has been beyond proven to be successful.

So my thoughts about the passing game have been, almost entirely, a commentary about fans. Again, given the fact that you've been stalking my posts for years, it's nearly impossible to believe that you don't understand that.

Quite shocking, truthfully. I guess you're just going to have to apply enough desitin to actually allow you to be able to understand the words you are reading.

And don't call me a liar

I know 7th grade was fun.

But have you ever thought of relating to the reality of what does and does not get posted on this board?

Thanks. I have always enjoyed reading your posts.

He doesn’t bother me in the least. I don’t engage him much….it’s a waste of time. I pretty much consider him as nothing more than comic relief. Too bad, because once in awhile he actually makes a good point, but then he ruins things by being an a$$ and derailing threads with rambling, nonsensical posts filled with contradictions, deflections, hostility, and outright lies.
