Agreed. I like Jody, but if he said it’s 50/50 and he did not speak with Milan or with Milan’s people (all of whom see really quiet publicly, he is not reporting fact.

I did think it’d be a good idea to take advantage of the fact that the fanbase is starving for details so I brought a self-professed insider onto my radio show and let them declare the recruitment was a done deal. Then, I waited for another 48 hours as the fans didn’t see a commitment video and got nervous, so I dropped in to tell them that Louisville increased their offer and that no one else knows anything. Then, the day after I bragged about engagement farming, I told my audience that my insiders were told to say nothing at all unless they were absolutely sure. I made a big bunch of money off the anticipation rather than saying no one has a way of knowing anything three days ago.

I disagree. You assess the guy’s value and you hold at that. I believe it likely Pope has done that with other players and lost those players. But I think there is value if you trust your evaluation. I have no idea if this current roster will be top 25. No one else knows that answer, either. Some commentators have said UK is currently a top 25 team and Milan makes them top 10-15. Those guys know no more than you or me. It’s just off season sputter.
I follow this stuff religiously just like you do. I’ve seen all kinds of people with too early polls. I’m trying to remember if I’ve seen ANY with Kentucky in the top 25 and I’ve seen MANY with us outside it.
I hope we aren’t just asserting that it’s a top 25 because it is our team. I wouldn’t blame you if you are. And I wouldn’t shocked to see this team start the year somewhere between 21-25 without Momcilovic due to the upside of the guards, but it’s more than likely they aren’t ranked. I’m not basing that on my opinion — I’m basing that on the perception of the team by many who have been ranking all the teams in college basketball so far this offseason.
Make no mistake. I’ve lost faith in Mark Pope and I need Momcilovic on this roster to believe he can keep his job — but that isn’t because of preference. I’d still PREFER Mark Pope to do great here, I just don’t believe it will happen. He needs Momcilovic or it’s probably over.

For me to declare someone a troll, I’d have to believe they genuinely would place something above Kentucky winning, whether that be loyalty to another team or a personal agenda.
