All of the scheduling updates are why it makes sense to go to 24 teams n playoff.
No one cares about the bowls anyways and it gives UK a shot more times than at present.

If they are doing this, they should have stuck to the 8 game conference schedule. This also gives the other conferences more visibility and money. Seems dumb.
Scheduling matters in this new era. Feasting on Poop State is over. Finally. Trash games that no one cares about. The fans finally get something out of all of this.
I think they are just forcing to move these cupcake games to a different weekend instead of the next to last game.
Good. There have been WAY too many of those glorified exhibition games disguised as real games. It was almost an insult to fans to expect them to pay full price for some of them.

Yeah, I guess I conflated the new scheduling model, which does eliminate a Poop State game from the schedule, with this, which is moving the remaining 2 Poop State games on the schedule and I'm assuming spreading them out. That next to last weekend schedule in the SEC is a brutal watch from a fan perspective. No reason for that when things are ramping up for the postseason. I like it.
Yeah, exactly. Only good thing about it though was to give some guys a couple of weeks to nurse injuries if possible. Bad thing about it for us was coming out a little flat the week after but not nearly as bad as we did after a bye week, think they’re trying to dump one of those too if not already.
At some point, P4 teams may stop playing FCS teams which will effectively shut down most FCS sports teams since football pays all of the bills for FCS schools.
Basically Poop State stays on the schedule, but now they are only on the schedule 2 times and early in the schedule.
Why wpuld people be happy the cupcake is gone? We play murders row every year and losing one of the few easy games is not a good thing . . SOS os not a worry nor has it ever been a Issue.
What joy do you get playing Cupcake U? Big boy teans should play other Big Boys every week.

Those boring pseudo-exhibitions against FCS level teams are worthless. They accomplish nearly nothing. They don’t entertain fans. They don’t help your power rating. They don’t help you make the playoffs.
All they do is give everyone a meaningless automatic W. Which I suppose might help you get to bowl eligibility, but if you need one of those to get eligible then it would be a supercrap bowl that nobody cares about anyways.
I just don’t see much point in playing those games. I’m glad there will now be one fewer of them.
I can agree teams should get 1 cupcake but not 3 or 4.
Kentucky football has had it's problems over the years but too many easy games has never been one of them.
With the bowl games becoming garbage, and half the teams sitting out anyway, I would think you would want a chance at another quality win to try to make the playoffs.
There have always been plenty enough opportunities at quality wins on our schedule to get there.
