I think mlodzinski will be the odd man out, but also run a 6 man rotation when there are no off days in a week. That would give the young guys an extra day of rest periodically.

Read the article I posted from Tribune Review. His numbers warrant him staying in the rotation. He’s earned it. It is unlikely that they would go to a six man rotation. Pitchers are creatures of habit. They have their routines on off days leading up to their starts.

I expect he and John’s to piggyback in games at Jones starts. I’d assume at least for the first couple Jones will be on a pitch count and the team will be lucky if he gets through four.. I’ll be interesting to see what his final rehab start looks like this week

Bullpen sucks again, defense is a clown show (2 more errors), another stiff-Callihan-called up from AAA and Davis keeps proving he doesn't belong on roster (passed ball, lazy tag and a whopping .133 average).

He’s frustrated. I get it. He’s pitched well and looked better than Chandler.
And he's likely trying to force their hand to trade him--which if they could get a reliever or two in a deal for him they should consider it
He's justified because the decision was based on results. He's given up just 5 runs in his last 4 starts (21 innings)
I understand Chandler the future but if Mlodzinski isn't then move him

Raise it!

I’m happy to see the Bucco’s holding their ground.
Hard to believe the NL Central it’s still all above .500.

While it’s understandable for him to be angry with the rotation decision, there is no justification for him to be at a point where the Pirates had to place him on the restricted list.

We dont know what he was told heading into the season or when this happened. If he wants out then demand the trade. I dont have a problem with it but understand if you do.

With the money Pro Athletes make the notion of "I will do whatever is best for the team" is a thing of the past sometimes.

Yeah, team did not need him yesterday and they are off today. Hopefully by tomorrow he has calmed down and recognizes the opportunities ahead. Chandler has to be feeling some heat as well.

Sometimes I agree but sometimes it's necessary. I don't know if he's arbitration eligible or will be a free agent after this season but either way him being in the pen negatively impacts his value.
The Bucs also aren't contenders.
And I'd be way more willing to do what's best for the team later in my career as opposed to while I'm trying to establish myself
I think we all agree he's been better than Chandler. The disagreement is around how far should he go to advocate for himself.
He's also making about 16% of the average salary the only factor money has is his focus on the next deal.

I don’t have a problem with him if his anger had even reached the point of demanding/asking for a trade (which we don’t even know), I have a problem that his attitude was at a point he couldn’t, or wouldn’t, be able perform his duties he is under contract to perform.

I’m not happy he was chosen as the one to be taken out of the rotation. Its quite obvious Chandler has been the only failure with the starters so far.

Not saying you're wrong but I get it from his point.

The Pirates control 3 years of his arbitration after this year. The Pirates have paid him over 4 million in his career for the opportunity they gave him. By getting himself put on the restricted list he does nothing but cost himself money. There is no way when he goes to arbitration that being put on the restricted list will be viewed as a positive. Let's face it, the Guy is a crybaby getting bad advice. If he asks to be traded, I have no problem with that. It should NEVER affect your ability to show up for work.

Paul Skenes is getting paid 1.1 million in salary this year vs Mlod getting 800 K. In MLB a young player just doesn't have the cards in a poker game after he agrees on a signing bonus. I can't see any way Paul Skenes would ever say "I'm not happy. I'm not pitching"

Skenes isn't being forced to the pen which will impact him in arbitration
Not sure why you're acting like the Bucs are doing him a favor by paying him. He's earned it.
Lots of players sit when they demand a trade. Both sides actually benefit from that.
We all know he should still be in the rotation. I have no issue with you being critical of him but this was mismanaged by the Bucs which created the current scenario.
For the record if we did that with Skenes and he refused I'd praise him lol
