It really is insane how hard it is for us to get a commitment. We’ve reportedly offered the most money and he’ll have basically unlimited minutes and shots for the Kentucky freakin Wildcats. I mean come on, what’s the hold up?!
The same hold up in every other high level recruitment This cycle.
UL keeps pushing Pope to bring more to the table. MM is sitting back and letting the two rivals run up his NIL value. It is coming down to how high Pope is willing to go for MM. Thoughts?
We need to seriously consider allocating men’s basketball funding to football and other programs at this point.

Contrast that with MM 's.
At best he's in Aberdeen's situation where he really wants to go back to ISU but they can't afford him
Either way this proves he's less than enthusiastic about playing at UK and is looking at all his options twice.
This is kind of a hard pill for fans to swallow coming from a fringe 4 star HS recruit who played three years at ISU and is a second round NB A prospect.
It's not even just not getting a player that's frustrating. It's the whole process. Kentucky leads -> Kentucky is getting him -> Kentucky leads -> Kentucky should get a commitment any time -> Kentucky is the leader -> He's going to Kentucky -> Kentucky lost momentum -> He's immediately committed somewhere else.

Value in a vacuum isn’t the only consideration here.
You also have to factor rarity. He’s the last guy left with the type of ability he has as a top 5 portal talent.

The OP is a perfect example of why I check post counts. He posts a stupid and incendiary statement. Then lazy journalists like Yahoo sports come here and gather content. Our offer is already several hundreds of thousands of dollars over UofL's, so why would we have to raise it? Also, I thought our offer has always been the highest, and that UK hasn't had to raise it.

I think it is less important that he is here for title hopes and more important that Pope shows he can sign someone that is in the top 100 players available without hiring daddy.
That seems like the recruiting pitch that Pope gives to most players.
This guy ain’t good enough to carry us to a national title and even if he was, we don’t have enough help for him anyway. We should’ve fought harder/better in the beginning so we wouldn’t have to be in this mess.

Hopefully this goofball Keegan Brown is tied to Pope so when Pope is canned he is gone too. Somehow he has made Pope and even worse recruiter, which I didn’t think was possible.
What do you think a GM would do differently? We have a 4 person team that handles the same tasks. And like with every college team, the coach has final say.

Pope(who is actually responsible for recruiting) is way worse for recruiting than fans commenting on message boards(who aren't responsible for recruiting), yet you only defend one and only attack the other.
Sure. Even if I grant all that, we gotta get this guy now. Unless you have a Time Machine, our best option is Momcilovic as the star player. He’s valuable, but even more valuable for us given our need and available options.

It was also reported yesterday all over Twitter that it was a done deal to UK. You can't believe all recruiting Twitter experts.
Folks have whifflash, but I just hope they figure something out and can close this deal out. A roster with Momcilovic is going to be better than what we'll have without him. You can take that to the bank.
If it turns out that we are being trolled again, this would be difficult to recover from. We've tied up tons of resources and missed out on other options. I don't think there's a ton left, but good talent evaluators can find under the radar guys.
