This has happened way more times than just tyran stokes btw. This is like Stokes 10.0
I’m as negative as anyone but I think he’s coming. Something that I’ve been considering though, is it the best for UK if he comes? Even with him we aren’t a title contender but he probably would be good enough to get Pope a season good enough to save his job for another season. That’s the worst part about this.

100%. Absolute worst case scenario would be a lucky S16 from another 2 seed having their AA injured or something after yet another up and down mediocre season.
Still when it comes down to it, I'd rather win as many games as possible to stay afloat vs Kansas. Just have to hope the new AD does the right thing and doesn't reward / promote mediocrity

I can’t get with the “aww man, we might win too much to get rid of the coach” stuff. I’m weirdly protective about that idea. A true fan should always want more wins IMO no matter what. The coaching/administration stuff will take care of itself over time.

The two recruitments bear very little resemblance to one another.
Here are my thoughts, if that scenairio plays out. Even if that happens, I hope he gets sent to the unemployment line if he has not signed two or three 5 star highschool recruits. This would be 3 years in a row showing the world that elite highschool players don't want to play for him.

I think it is less important that he is here for title hopes and more important that Pope shows he can sign someone that is in the top 100 players available without hiring daddy.

There are plenty of trolls here to be sure. But if I was going to troll as a fan of another program,I would want Kentucky to keep Pope. I would be pumping him up bigtime.
If it does turn out that we were being trolled, Pope might just walk after the season's over, and I wouldn't want that to happen, but that's where we're going with how ugly social media is getting and how these kids just seem (in my eyes) more and more self-centered as the years go by. Being trolled again would also clown the University of Kentucky basketball program, terrible look. Future players with no desire to play for UK would jump at the opportunity to tease staff and taunt fans. It's ugly.
