...banged Harper Murray. #winning
Good for him. Was he signed as a QB a TE or a safety?Signed to the Carolina 90 man roster.
Listed as a TE. If he paid attention to Jay Moore, he should know how to long snap now too. Nice guy to have stashed on your practice squad as a developmental athlete. Could play WR in a pinch too. NFL teams have had worse QBs than him start games ….Vikings.Good for him. Was he signed as a QB a TE or a safety?
HH once again making you look like a sad, bitter old crankAND kong watched. # winning.
There was that time the Broncos had to start a WR at QB because they broke COVID rules and the NFL made an example of them, and they didn’t have a living owner to throw a hissy fit to prevent it.Listed as a TE. Umm. Tebow started for them for a year. Punishing runner but just a brutal passer. The Vikings started Spurgeon Wynn for multiple games. I have NEVER seen worse QB play in the NFL and I think he had been fairly successful in the CFL. Comically I think the Seahawks signed him later as a backup too. There was that time the Broncos had to start a WR at QB because they broke COVID rules and the NFL made an example of them, and they didn’t have a living owner to throw a hissy fit to prevent it.
So, there’s a chance for HH.
Very easy guy to root for who did everything he was asked to try to help the team. Never heard him whine once about fan criticism or about being replaced at QB.Good for him, and Go Big Red!![]()
Have them race. We’ll see who the best athlete in the family is.Might not be the best athlete in his family. His sister was setting all kinds track records last week
He had a few outstanding plays at TE for us that should have caught the eye of scouts. Even at TE we had posters on here bashing his ability. For a guy who was completely new to the position when he made the switch, he obviously impressed some GMs or coaches. Carolina’s owner is probably saying to himself, “Okay Mattie. Watch what this guy can do for a real NFL coach”.I listened to a podcast that talked about 22 tight ends getting drafted because the NFL is all about playing more three tight end sets because the Rams did. And they mentioned Boerkircher going so early. Some NFL execs thought he and other tight ends were underutilized and college OC's not knowing how to use tight ends shouldn't be held against them. That made me think of NU's use of the tight ends and I'm not surprised that Haarberg is getting a shot at a roster. He's a great athlete. At the least, he should get his foot in the door as a practice squad member. I doubt that Carolina is going to line him up next to a tackle.
I think the best thing going for him obviously is his size and speed and the fact he played for such a poor offense in college with clueless coaches. I am sure there is a reputation about Nebraska that you can get some good players from free agency who don't know what they are doing but could be coached up.He had a few outstanding plays at TE for us that should have caught the eye of scouts. Did you forget your meds again?NFL teams have had worse QBs than him start games
I mean, to be fair, the Broncos did start Kendall Hinton at QB in 2020 due to all their actual QBs being out with COVID. MIGHT be able to make an argument there.Did you forget your meds again?![]()
What on God’s green Earth makes you think Haarberg could be an NFL-caliber long-snapper?Listed as a TE. If he paid attention to Jay Moore, he should know how to long snap now too. In the past Spurgeon Wynn for my Vikes. There have been multiple backups come in to games over the years who throw multiple picks and struggle to complete short passes. Lots of QB3s are putrid and sometimes they end up starting games due to injuries. The guy is a big target with above average speed for an NFL TE. I’m not talking deep threat as an emergency WR. I’m talking big physical possession guy. Nobody would project him as a full time WR but he sure as heck has the athletic ability to be flexed out at WR.WR in a pinch? I don't see it. What NFL QB is worse??
Holla
Being under coached won't get you drafted necessarily but it can get you a shot as a late pick or free agent. Helmet scouting is a real thing. The backup tight end got drafted at Ohio State. Honestly, the Nebraska N does not stand for anything resembling excellence in today's world outside of the diehards and fanatical retards who chime in with their bull **** on this board and yell it from the cheap seats on game day.I think the best thing going for him obviously is his size and speed and the fact he played for such a poor offense in college with clueless coaches. Nope. Took the BP pill and 81mg aspirin.Did you forget your meds again?![]()
HH would never play WR in a pinch. He couldn't see the field at WR at Nebraska. But this is nothing to argue about because it's all so far fetched. I'll just say you are right and move on.Listed as a TE. If he paid attention to Jay Moore, he should know how to long snap now too. One of the things Jay Moore has said multiple times on air is that any guy hoping to stick on an NFL roster should learn how to long snap. Nobody is saying that he would be the starter there. Make yourself the emergency guy. Know multiple positions. In Haarberg’s case TE, WR, QB and yes maybe long snapper. I’m just repeating the advice Jay Moore said he gives guys. The more roles you can adequately perform, the more value you bring to a team with limited roster spots. What on God’s green Earth makes you think Haarberg could be an NFL-caliber long-snapper?
There are dozens of guys who spend 4-5 years doing nothing but that in college, and do it flawlessly. But yeah, some NFL team is going to turn Haarberg into their long-snapper. Because, you know, the “great kid” factor.
So which is it . Is our TE undervalued because they are forced to stay in and block because our OL struggles? . Or because Matt values a blocking TE more.? Your post contradicts itself. Our tight end usage has underperformed under Matt Rhule because of the O-line's struggles. TEs are constantly forced to stay in and block or delay their routes just to help scrape off defenders.
We’ve had talent at TE but Matt still values the position more for blocking than catching. Always has. HH might have more of a future than most think he will. He’s athetlic as hell but he’s still raw and it’s rare the NFL will work with raw talent. They do, and have, but it’s rare
the heartland produces Talent at that spot. Matt must recognize it
Nope. It doesn't. You're just not smart enough to comprehend a world where both are true.So which is it . Is our TE undervalued because they are forced to stay in and block because our OL struggles? . Or because Matt values a blocking TE more.? Your post contradicts itself.
