This. All the hand wringing over Moreno was pure ******* nonsense and now we're hand wringing over getting to significantly overpay someone who isn't going to push us into Final Four status. It's stupidity at this point.
Is the objective to win games? Then no.
And all those guys u referenced on the roster are mercenaries too. They just aren't as good as this guy to command a bunch of cheddar
In other news, Bat Cats just won their second game in 2 days! This Milan (pope recruiting in general) rollercoaster is getting old
I like the roster we have. Momciliovic is not worth this insane amount of money. He seems like a slightly better version of Steve Novak. Stats are eerily similar. Are we OK with letting Pope spend this much money in an attempt to save his job? Because it sure feels like that is what he is doing. Diallo and Wilkins will be studs. Moreno will make a huge leap and I expect Kam to be vastly improved. Just need a couple more guys to be solid role players and we are fine as is

That game may have been an outlier? Kelvin Sampson, one of the best defensive coaches in college basketball doesn't agree with that. They played BYU 2 years straight, one in the WAC, then the next season when they joined the Big 12, look up the press conference after the games on YouTube, he said it's the most difficult offense he's ever had to prepare for.

Agree. At this point it would look better on a national stage for UK to just say “we made the best offer…if you don’t want to be a Wildcat then we wish you the best of luck”. He isn’t worth the numbers being floated if they are accurate. Let him go screw up U of L’s roster and cause drama for them.

I think the rumors we had today about him calling both schools saying he had decided where was just that, rumors, and false ones. Had he truly had done that there would be no reason to drag out an announcement like that. Makes him look like he is trying to extort more NIL money if true. I know I'm being negative or doubtful but someone please tell me where I'm wrong and why. He pulled out of the draft 4 days ago. We have so many recruiting “experts” with “connections” that tweet and post on this board about it being a done deal. He will announce any second! That leads to the fanbase having excitement and anticipation that it’s going to happen any time. As time passes and no announcement happens anger should not be direct at the player trying decide what’s best for him. It’s not his fault. He at no point has said anything about committing by now.
Can’t help but think this is Stokes all over again. If he Milan was going to UK it would have happened. Seems to buying time increase amount from other program or holding out for something other than UK

All of us as fans myself included should learn from this and the Stokes recruitment to take anything our “well connected recruiting experts” say with a grain of salt. Especially if they are a random Twitter account that covers Kentucky sports and has Big Blue in the name. Could we still get him? Sure nothing is official, but clearly the done deal, it has been done and he’s told the coaches is completely false.
