These things are made up of various people but the anti-fascists that protested the German American Bund Nazi rally in Madison Square Garden aren't looked back in poorly. Neither are the anti-fascists that pushed back in Spain in the 30 and 40s, or England, or the anti-fascists that tried to assassinate Hitler. The anti-fascists of Italy standing next to El Duce hanging corpse are even looked back on in a more memorable light than fascists.

There were probably some weirdos and ashols in the above mentioned groups, mathematically there will be if people are involved. People like you see videos like above (I didn't bother watching) and then make a sweeping generalizations about entire groups. It's not like you are going to get video of any high level group meetings where some of them are discussing theory or ideas. If they existed the maga social media apparatus wouldn't bother sharing such stuff on your feed because they do not want their cultists catching any outside ideas.

I wonder how many members of those groups would be defending and fundraising for a guy who proudly wore a Nazi tattoo for 18 years like the great "anti-fascists" of today? Most of today's anti-fascists are in it more for the anarchy and publicity than they are for the principle. I'd say that's a major difference. This stuff wasn't happening until clicks and likes became a thing.
