I had double pneumonia sepsis and was so delirious I had laid in bed for 3 days urinating and defecating on myself. My baby momma couldn't get ahold of me and came to my home and found me. She called 911. Within two minutes of getting to the hospital I coded for 5 minutes. I had to be defibrillated 3 times but they got me back.

I was then life flighted to St. Joe's in Lexington where I was placed in a medically induced coma for 2 weeks. The infection had spread to my heart valves. There was also a 60% chance I was going to be braindead. But they brought me out and I slowly regained my functions except half of both hands don't work. After 4 weeks I was transferred to Danville where I had to learn to walk again. I was just released. I've lost 35 pounds.

All I can do is thank God and the doctors. Only 1/3 of people with as severe sepsis as I had leave the hospital. I think where my 17 year old dog had just died and I spent a lot of time outside crying in the cold most air kick-started all of it. I'm just super grateful to be alive and it took so many miracles that it had to be God. I thought you guys might want to know and hear my testimony.
Did you see anything on the other side? Serious question.

Hasn’t this guy been dying for over half a decade?
Post a pic
The fact you think I would make something like this up is both disgusting and reprehensible. You tell me how to post a pic and I'll show you me in a coma hooked up to a ventilator guy. I want a damn apology when you see it too. Tell me now how.

And almost a decade ago I had to have a kidney transplant and I was on a waiting list. But my half brother ended up being a match so things weren't looking good until then. He lived in Russia and had issues for months returning to the States. But it went about as well as possible and I was deemed healthy and great to go. If that's what you're referring to.

Nah, like I said I just felt like the weight of everything lifted and I was at total peace. Felt light as a feather. If you could bottle that it'd be worth billions.
I am very happy and relieved you survived. I don't think you really should have to post pictures to prove anything to anyone. Since you asked how to I will tell you though. Just load pictures to a folder, click reply, click attach files, and select your pictures.

I’m glad you pulled through thank you for sharing with us. I remember you from the other board. I have a friend from high school who died a couple years ago from the same thing. And another recently who also had it and pulled through. What kind of symptoms did you have? Especially in the beginning? I’m just curious.

"half of both hands"

.Is that one hand?
Each hand still has working finger-pistols?

God bless you. Thanks for sharing. Glad you pulled through brother. I had a friend from high school who passed away from it recently. It’s made me really cautious about getting treatment if I’m feeling sick. Did you realize how sick you were or did it just spiral suddenly?

Don’t worry about proving it to some rando here on the board man. Thankfully you are ok and that’s all that matters.

My thumb, trigger finger and middle finger on each hand work. My ring and pinkie finger are numb, along with half of both hands. They're folded in and I can't move them. Slight brain damage is believed to be the cause. Maybe 18 months from now is the timetable they have me if I get it back. Plus there's tons of long term complications from sepsis.

That's the scary thing, I don't remember any except being outta my mind delirious. I didn't even know 3 days had passed or that I'd pissed and defected on myself. My ex said my lungs were rattling like crazy every breath I took though and I had a 104 degree temperature in the ambulance that had disappeared in a 5 minute ride to the hospital.

I figured out how to post a picture finally. Me in a medically induced coma and ventilator. This is before I was put on a trachea.

I caught sepsis in the hospital and survived.

My first cousin caught it and he died within 2 days. He was in for a very simple operation and it was shock when they said he had died. He was a life long UK fan.
Grateful you survived sir and I'm sorry about your cousin. It's a very swift demise if not treated. Did you go into septic shock and have to be put in a coma or did they catch it through blood tests during your stay from the problem that landed you there in the first place and what was that of you don't mind my asking?

I was in the hospital for other matters when I caught it. They were taking blood samples the following day after admission and the doctor came up to my room and told me the news. All attention was then focused on my sepsis. I had never heard the word in my life and knew nothing about it. The doctor talked to my wife and educated her on the seriousness of the situation, I had high fever, weakness to a point I could barely get up in the bed.

My cousin caught it a few years after I did. He lived in Columbus, Ohio and went in for a rather simple procedure on his foot and planned for an overnight stay. He never made it back home.

Brother I'm glad you made it. I'm sorry about your cousin too. It sucks cause it's a defense mechanism your own body triggers to fight infection but it goes overboard and attacks your organs. It took me a week and a half just to be able to sit up, granted I was in a coma for two weeks. But even today I'm weaker than water upper body wise. I'm sure glad they caught that bro. It's a terrifying illness to say the least and most people don't realize it till it's too late or don't even know. Like I said I had no idea 3 days had passed with me using the bathroom on myself the whole time. If my baby mama didn't know in her gut something was wrong, and every single event after that going right I'd be dead. Eveytime I pass a graveyard I think that's where I should be but God is watching over me. I have to believe that.

I am sorry you experienced this and I also thank God you are alive as well. When you died for 5 minutes, was it black?

God knows our time and we don't. Must be a reason why you're still here. Your family, and maybe other things. The main thing is repentance and turn towards Jesus again. Read that bible friend!

Oh I renewed my faith in 2022 vociferously. I hated God for a long time because of what a pastors 18 year old son did to me when I was 4 and 5 with another child. The father caught him finally and essentially said we'd go to hell if we spoke out. I kept that secret for 30 years man. The other child, her name was Samantha RIP, took her own life at 14. But I read random verses every night and my own personal favorites. I get on my knees and pray every night and I put my prayers for myself last. I thank the Lord every morning I wake up.

The thing about that 5 minutes is there was no color. It was just pure feelings of peace like I've NEVER felt before. Like I've said, I was light as a feather. The weight of all my worldly problems, my body weight, was gone. A floating sensation if you will. There was no fear, no nothing really. Just peace. I wish I could tell you there was a bright light or that Jesus appeared and spoke to me but he didn't. But it wasn't my time. But that feeling will never be forgotten. My time could be today, tomorrow or next week and although I dearly enjoy being alive, my fear of death has diminished drastically. Best I can answer that brother.

Bro was on here on April 21, 22, 23, etc.
Bro,that picture I posted on here was taken April 22nd. I have my brother's footage of me being life flighted, leaving Rockastle headed towards St. Joe's. Don't lie on me going into a cardiac arrest for 5 minutes on April 21st 2026 or somehow being on RR during that or in a coma like I just posted a picture of.

GOD Please forgive me for my outburst and profanity. I'm better than this, it's why you saved me.

There's been a 15% increase in sepsis deaths the last two years. 35% of all hospital deaths are from sepsis.
Been there . They accidentally cut an intestine while performing an emergency appendectomy. Five days later they i had sepsis and they were opening me up to clean me out and find and fix the leak .

Eighteen days in the hospital and there were a few I was thinking I might not make it. Never told anyone i was thinking that though.

Statistically you shouldn't have made it bro. I'm so thankful you made did, I like your posts. Did you have POST SEPSIS SYNDROME? 18 days is a lot especially since you weren't in a medically induced coma. If you take out my 14 days off the coma, I spent 14 more in ICU. I never thought about dying because the first week I was convinced I was being lied to by doctors, nurses and family even with photographic evidence. I genuinely thought I was being tortured cause I couldn't get water or eat and I kept getting strapped down because I kicked a doctor and 4 nurses cause my brain was in pure fight mode. I've had severe PTS since my first deployment to Iraq and that, with two additional deployments ruined me mentally. Just like I came out of a seizure 3 years ago being attacked by cops and EMS assaulting the hell outta them. It took 5 people to restrain me and I'm 5'9 170, well 150 now. It's like my mind goes to being captured by insurgents cause that was literally my biggest fear. I'm sorry I'm making this about me. So thankful you're here with us brother!

One of my best friends in high school had his appendix rupture but stayed at home puking his guts out for four days. When they opened him up gangrene was so built up it basically exploding out onto the doctors and he went into septic shock and died, 3 weeks before graduation.
