do you water your lawn?

DM water works has asked people not to water their lawns. Because they already have to go to great lengths to get the nitrates out of the water that the farmers dump in to our water supply with impunity.

Another thing on the incredibly long list of failures by Gov. Reynolds.

It's Central Iowa Water Works. A relatively new partnership of metro area entities. I wonder how many entities regret this newfound partnership. Looks like water bans may be something that will be a yearly occurrence.

Side note: bordering Altoona did not enact a ban.

The main point being... It's the farmers' and Republican leadership's faults for the ban.

I love when my grass is dormant in July. Less to do on the weekends. Mowing in November last year sucked.

My grass is Darwinism green. A couple more seasons and it will be completely drought resistant.

You are raising spoiled, coddled grass that will never be able to take care of itself.

Did you try this (not feeding or hydrating) with your kids, too? Here, when grass doesn't get water, it dies. And I don't care enough to try to go all hipster with my lawn to attempt to change that.

But, wait ... you said your grass is going to be full blown green, and never brown again ... and you said when the poors rebel, they're going to target the green lawns first ... so you're setting yourself up to be targeted?

Good luck getting past the land mines. Don't worry, we have stockpiles of extra dirt and sod to fill in and cover up after you go boom. Bonus instant fertilizer, too.
blood makes the green grass grow....or so I was told

We use waste water from the RO system for the potted herbs, vegetables, and flowers. The lawn is all natural. When it rains, we have thistle, clover, and wildflowers. When it doesn't, we don't. The dogs are perfectly happy, regardless.

Yes I feed and water my kids, I am not a freaking psycho - they are people most of the time.

Yep, my drought resistant lawn will lead them to me. Then again, I never said I was poor. I just prefer to put the world's most precious resource - clean water - into my pool.

Well then who gets credit for Altoona not imposing a ban?
The City of Altoona, Iowa, sources its tap water from the deep Cambrian-Ordovician aquifer (also known as the Jordan Aquifer). This groundwater is naturally protected and pulled from wells drilled roughly 2,500 feet below the surface.

Central Iowa Water Works (CIWW) primarily draws its drinking water from three main sources: the Raccoon River, the Des Moines River, and an underground infiltration gallery (a system of alluvial wells located in the shallow aquifer near the rivers).
