A group of trolls that mostly attend University of Iowa have spewed just awful comments on Twitter for a handful of years without consequence. A mom whose 6yo was the subject of comments decided it wasnt OK and put the time in to find out who was behind the troll accounts. She goes on to name names on her blog.
Interesting read- it hits on a lot of the worst of the hyper-connectedness and lack of consequences in the modern online world.
Relating it to an SPS thread topic from last year- the group was active in trolling Mary Kate Cornett after that meathead Pat McAfee elevated the rumor that she 17ed her boyfriend's dad.
