Thinking about this. Who have been the most over and underrated kids from Iowa?

Over:
Billew
Foster
C. McCaffery
J. McCaffery
Paige
Woodbury

Under:
Green
Baer
Weiskamp?
Kr. Murray
Ke. Murray
Too early on Jack, disagree on Woodbury and Weiskamp was a 4 star. He was properly rated

If we are going off college I’d say take Paige and woody off over rated. Not sure belongs but id Glenn Worley on there of Woodbury. He had good frosh year but never took that next step and picked Iowa over Kansas. Ogelsby was a top 150 recruit I’d maybe add to the list. A name could put with an asterisk that never even made it to college and had so much hype out of quad cities and think legal issues caused some of it who was at once a highly ranked guy nationally was Jerry Myles (sp?).

Under rated I’d argue Bruner where he wasn’t coveted like Horner or haluska and ended career as leading rebounder. Going back to 90s Kent mccausland. Sure there is more UNI guys like Tuttle.

Alford had a few overrated Iowa kids. Probably most overrated was Carlton Reed, Iowa's Gatorade Player of the Year in 2004, with Alex Thompson a close second. Mike Henderson was also overrated, but came closer to meeting projections.

Lickliter had Brennan Cougill, Iowa's Mr. Basketball coming out of high school.

As for underrated guys: Peter Jok. And I agree with iahawkeyes17 regarding Brunner.

I think Mike Henderson was fine. You are right about the other guys. Cougill... woof.

I didn't think Thompson was that bad.

Fine on the first guys, to each their own.

Ogelsby... I completely forgot. Nobody made me more angry.

Brunner is a good call.

Jok before his knee injuries in high school was a top 10 player in the country.

I felt like at Iowa he was just getting started before he left.

Was he a 3* or 4? I don't remember him being rated that high.
You may be right about Thompson "just getting started," but if so his offensive stats didn't show it. Regarding recruiting rankings, I can't find much, but he was probably on the 3/4 border. I did see Rivals had him at 127 in their final national ranking for 2004.
