STFU, you arrogant ****.

You don't like farmers who vote subsidies for themselves?

Have you ever voted against living a luxury lifestyle via your father in law's money which subsidizes the 8k a year you make writing a short opinion piece once in a while?
LOL - weren't you the one accusing me of being emotional and "screaming?"

Looks like I touched a nerve!

I love farmers. My mom grew up on a farm near Meadow Grove Nebraska and we still have plenty of farmer relatives. I presume some take government assistance from time-to-time, and good for them if they qualify. Just like good for the majority of people on welfare who ARE working and need the assistance temporarily to keep their families fed and housed.

My pointing out your use of decades old dog whistle racist bulls.hit has nothing to do with farmers - it has to do with you being a stale, crusty old racist without any new material.

It's only "a dog whistle" to racists like you.

No one dislikes farmers.
We just like to call out the hypocrisy that many of them show by complaining about feeding poor kids while using subsidy money to buy giant pick ups every two years.
Torbz uses father in law money to buy a new BMW every two years, and he doesn't care about feeding poor kids.

Honestly, or pickup a second job in their off time. Back when I was a poor I found creative ways to get money that weren't begging for government handouts.
Heck, I am not poor, but if I want to buy something special for myself I pick up some gig work to earn extra to buy it. That way I can live outside the budget without affecting long-term goals.

I like how dems are in disarray but also in lockstep.
Their thinking is chaotic and illogical, but almost all of their opinions are aligned perfectly. Being in disarray while also being in lockstep is possible, but it does require lib "thinking" to accomplish it.

That sounds like jealousy bro.

Some people are born into money, some born into land, and some have to scrape together an existence from a young age.

We play the hands we are dealt.

(And before you say anything, I consider marrying into family money the same as being born into it.)

But way to deflect from my comment. A+ for effort.

Not jealous in the slightest.

It's not something that's worthy of any respect though. I can put up with arrogance and egomania of torbee's level, when it's someone who seems in some sense to have earned it.

Great last page of this thread. I always get a kick out of the free handouts left party bi.tching about farmers getting a handout. Are you all upset that someone other than you is getting a handout?
This posters nonstop flip flopping also makes me laugh.
He gets on someone for that poster telling him how he feels about something then later does the exact same thing back to him. There has been a lot of former HROT lefties really struggling the last couple of days.

You're doing nothing but sitting here telling me how you think I feel about something. You're letting your own feelings get in the way of how you interpret a joke.

Someone's letting their feelings into their posts again.

I chose to go into a woefully underpaid profession with eyes wide open in 1992.

I've had a long and very successful career in said profession.

I've been paid for my passion - writing - for more than three decades now and have never, ever had an editor or publisher express anything other than respect and admiration for my skills as a storyteller and editor.

I've also been extremely fortunate that the girl (she was 19 when we started dating) I fell in love with and married was a third generation business owner in a very successful mid-sized business and that she is smart/successful enough to have made even bigger and more successful.

The day I need validation from a low i.q. ignoramus like Binary Boy here will be the first.

I don't see Torbz's arrogance and over-inflated ego coming from his wife's money. I think it stems from his journalism background.

Journalists - especially ones that work on print - really think that they are better than the average shlubs that they are because they can string together words and have better spelling skills than most.

Yeah, I don't care.

You should just try to lower your arrogance and egomania. They are not positive qualities.

Anyone who has read my posts over the 20-plus years I've been posting on Rivals/On3, knows I am frequently self-deprecating and don't take myself seriously - hence, lack of arrogance.

Maybe my ability to write coherent sentences just really impresses you, and hence makes you feel like I'm displaying ego?

Sorry about that. I'll try to dumb it down going forward if you are in the thread.

Just going through all the things one must do when they get in an argument with the egomaniac.

Or, going by your logic, he cares about me and my opinions too.

Whatev.
I care about everyone.

I would love for you to realize it is not nice to perpetuate racial stereotypes.

I have hope your eyes and heart will be opened someday.

No that's not it. You're a condescending ahole to people who hold a different opinion than you.

Your buddy from your insane leftist clique said:

Maybe I misunderstood him? Seems like he's saying a lot of farmers vote against a system where they receive subsidies? (Because they want a better system where subsidies are not needed, but where they can still make a living.)

I'm sure some farmers vote to keep the current system. They're making a living, so why rock the boat, is probably their thinking.

But whatever. It's still weird as hell that you have a very strong vitriol toward hard working food producers receiving government money for their production and hard work. And zero vitriol towards people who do nothing and produce nothing and receive free government money. It's illogical.
You're right about the leftist clique thing, for the record. It's weird as hell. I don't automatically assume you're racist, either. Lol at the thought that I'm part of the clique just because I disagree with you, though.

You seem to post a lot of things thinking that you're making a compelling point, when it just comes off as dull. In case anyone ITT is confused, the rhetoric you're seeing isn't because people hate farmers - they hate the hypocrisy of farmers voting for less benefits and then holding their hands out when times get rough. In this case, if they're having a rough go, it's almost directly due to who they voted for. I'd thought these were all fairly obvious observations.

I don't see it that way. I admit I like to poke the bear when debating with people - but I 100% don't think I'm special or better than anyone - I just have skills in the area of writing/storytelling.

Fully admit to being an a.sshole semi-frequently, but I think you are conflating that with arrogance.

Everything you said after "it just comes off as dull", came off as very dull to me.

People have all sorts of feelings about opinions they disagree with. Finding them dull is one possible feeling.

I guess everyone should just shut up about their opinions. Might cause negative feelings in others ranging from finding it dull, to who knows what...
