What in the wide world of sports makes you think "Farmers want the broken system to be fixed so they can continue working hard" when literally ALL their lobbying is aimed at keeping those subsidies rolling in?

Maybe I misunderstood him? Seems like he's saying a lot of farmers vote against a system where they receive subsidies? (Because they want a better system where subsidies are not needed, but where they can still make a living.)

I'm sure some farmers vote to keep the current system. They're making a living, so why rock the boat, is probably their thinking.

But whatever. It's still weird as hell that you have a very strong vitriol toward hard working food producers receiving government money for their production and hard work. And zero vitriol towards people who do nothing and produce nothing and receive free government money. It's illogical.

I was having a lovely little back and forth with fatpiggy throughout this thread, and then you think I decided to drop my true political feelings about Iowa farmers in the middle of it? It's actually hilarious that you think that's something I'd do.

I know I didn't really chime in on those threads much, I mostly just read them. I told a story one time about what an ex gf's dad told me about how he votes (he was a cattle farmer). That's it. I read those threads, but I didn't chime in a whole lot.

So you may be confusing me with someone else. Or perhaps you saw me reacting to posts, and decided to make up your own mind about what that meant. That's a possibility too.

Meh, those are just more farmer handouts. They give them money so they can buy food that comes from farms. The entire system is built on giving welfare to farmers.
