Jezebel is a very good chick flick, well worth watching. Fort Apache is the best of the bunch, Fonda playing against type as a martinet post commander. Wayne and Ward Bond are very fine.

That seems a little harsh. The movie was nominated for best picture and Henry Fonda won the Oscar for male leading role. We will have to agree to disagree.

If TCM was airing a month-long series on Henry Fonda pretty much all his notable films would be shown. Gregory Peck is this month’s TCM Star of the Month. This is just one morning and afternoon for Fonda.
Marilyn Monroe is the TCM Star of the Month for June. The Asphalt Jungle and The Misfits stand out for me. (I’ve seen Some Like it Hot too many times.) The Asphalt Jungle, dang, brilliant, John Huston directed, Sterling Hayden’s best role. Marilyn has a five-minute bit.

She made 25 movies where she got credited. Star of the Month runs about 32-40 hours, give or take, this would be 16-20 movies. She was a pain in the *** to work with, always late on set.
