Just happened to catch the second half of the Wings at Liberty game. Fudd was certainly no dud in this game. Made like 4 straight three-pointers in the 3rd along with a few steals and a couple of blocks. Ended up with 6 three-pointers, 1 shy of Caitlin's rookie record which Caitlin shares with someone else (not Paige). I was okay with that.

Comfortable 15-point road win vs NYL, rather impressive.
I thought Fudd was supposed to be out for a month with a leg injury......

The Sun and Storm are playing their third and final game of the season tonight, only two weeks into the season. That's bizarre scheduling.
I hate scheduling like that. I guess with 15 teams weird things will happen, but it would be nice to see how well you match up with other teams throughout the season instead of going best of 3 right off the bat.

And their last game ... EVER 😯.

Apparently the Connecticut franchise is moving to Houston next year. Crazy, they had what I thought was a pretty tough and viable team just 2 years ago with Bonner, Thomas and Mustard Long Nails. Now they're almost extinct.

CC will most likely become the WNBA’s official all-time career leader in assists per game on Thursday. You have to have 500 assists in order to qualify for the list and she is currently sitting on 497 in 58 games, 8.57 per game. Courtney Vandersloot is the current leader at 6.62. CC is so far ahead of everyone else that if she gets 3 in her next game then she could play 16 games in a row without a single assist and still be the all-time leader in assists per game.

Tiffany Hayes vs. Caitlin Clark rematch. The masses will be watching.

OK but I’m more interested in seeing whether Aliyah Boston can replicate her 20 point, 16 rebound game vs the Valkyries last time out.

Another nobody trying to get famous off CC... Dijonae Carrington and Chennedy Carter 2.0.
I don’t know if fame is the goal but the players you mentioned definitely aim to limit or “shut down” CC. My guess is that the respective coaching staffs make those defensive assignments and challenge those players to make the stops. The Fever scouting report is no secret.

In any event, I’m willing to concede that personal animosity is likely a motivating factor for a few select defenders.

Coach Nakase said her team was out-physicaled. Should be a spicy game by GS at home.

I'm more interested in which version of the refs show up tonight. Will it be the ones who call fouls for hand checking, grabbing, and improperly impeding freedom of movement, or the refs from the 1st three quarters during their last game?

Well a player going on social media and liking posts about CC22 should be physically harmed is a bit over the top. I will say this though, CC22 does NOT shy away from the moment when she's on the court. Her faceoff with Hayes and gesturing "you and me" lets go, certainly didn't defuse the situation any.

A substantial chunk of the W is comprised of jealous, petty, snowflakes as far as I am concerned. There is nothing caitlin can do so that those players won't be triggered. They've been triggered by her since before she was drafted and it isn't stopping anytime soon. She cannot defuse that. She just needs to play her game how she wants to.

It's kind of amazing. These are adult women who literally act like catty, petty, jealous 14-year-old girls mad because this one girl gets all the attention from the boys and they don't. It's embarrassing.

What I see during games is Caitlin laughing and joking with most opponents.

My eyeball test from on court body language and interaction is that Caitlin fans blow it up out of proportion.
Did your eyeball test include the Valks game when Hayes started everything by clapping in CC's face after driving the lane and getting a layup? Or her chirping at CC at the other end of the court during a dead ball? Hayes created all of that drama by getting into her face before CC did anything. It was another example of no-names who make a play getting into CC's face as a way to create buzz for themselves. Of course once CC decided to engage, Hayes disappeared the rest of the game and played like sh*t while CC played great and made her look like a fool. But if you're trying to say that CC creates all of the drama with other players by "blowing it up out of proportion" you're being blind and clueless again.

We are watching different games then.
All these players who can't stand that a skinny white girl from Iowa is the face of the WNBA and the most popular player on the planet so they try to rough her up, get in her face, chirp at her, etc.... but as far as some of these guys are concerned, it's all Caitlin's fault. Lol.

I'm not in anyway taking a stand against CC, and I assume you know that. She's as great an entertainer as the women's sports world has ever seen. I'm saying that when her "mamba mentality" as they call it comes out, she does throw gas on the fire. Its like watching her at Iowa when she was on the road and the crowd would yell crap at her and she would put a hand to her ear and then gesture to them to turn it up. She loved it. It fueled her, like Jordan. Lets be honest though, were we not Caitlin "fans" would we really think highly of her for some of these habits?

Personally I've never said "its her fault". I'm asking for an honest discussion. Be honest. If Clark played at Maryland or OSU, and did some of the same things in Carver that she did when she would get in that killer mode, are you saying you'd be cool with that. Caitlin has won over a lot of fans, (many of them new fans to the women's game), but everybody is not an Iowa fan, and I don't think we'd be any different if she played for a rival team.

I'm talking specifically about her time in the WNBA. She's been a target because of her popularity, popularity she's gained by the way she plays and by her ability to back up any kind of brashness with results. So you've had everyone from legendary veterans like Sheryl Swoopes and ESPN personalities like Monica McNutt bad mouthing her and spreading lies about her play, to fellow WNBA players like Chennedy Carter and Rhyne Howard and Angel Reese and Kaleah Copper and Marina Mabry and Jacy Sheldon and Tiffany Hayes among others literally targeting her with their play.... be it a cheap shot body check from behind, intentionally poking her in the eyes, pushing her down from behind, or instigating drama by getting into her face and jawing at her during games. That's what I'm talking about. I'm not saying you've done this, but seeing people say that it's CC's fault because she blows things out of proportion is just next level dumb.

And some of the players you mentioned, CC played against for several of those college years. You think they have forgotten? And NO I don't think CC is "blowing things out of proportion. I do think some of the fans, (especially on social do), and she gets the fall out from that. I do think there is some perspective here. This is a league that had so little following. And then in just a matter of weeks, ONE women gets drafted, and 80% of all the coverage is about her. You watch a game and HER commercials run non stop through much of the telecast. Call it petty, catty, sure. But you kind of get it, at the same time. In no way am I saying Clark hasn't earned what she has received, but good Lord it has to be a bit infuriating for some of the other players, and there are some other really good players in the league. And yes, i'm totally aware of how good she is, and how she's shredding the WNBA record book in just a couple of seasons.

Did not say I have not seen Caitlin having issues with players on the court. Obviously I have.

While that does happen, I have seen more of her and players on other teams just playing and having good moments than the bad.

I am not watching to see what I am going to be upset about next. I am watching them play and enjoying the good.

I get that. But these are grown adults. They should know that it's no fault of Caitlin that nobody paid attention to the WNBA before she arrived. And they should acknowledge that they wouldn't be making the salaries they're now making, or flying charter, or playing in NBA arenas, etc., if not for her. If we were talking about a bunch of teenagers, sure I'd understand their resentment and the way they treat her. But we're not. We're talking about grown adults.

Love Lexi but Fever shoulda upgraded at the wing.

And just no interior presence for the Fever.

One of those games where either CC goes off or Fever are in trouble.

Overall, not a bad first quarter, meaning, not a ton of whistles, good pace, and highly competitive. GS shooting well. Fever not shooting well. Much better to watch than last time's choppiness.
