A vote for Talarico is about as moronic a decision as humanly possible. It’s like having a splinter in your thumb and cutting your hand off. Actually, it’s closer to taking a **** and putting the log on a hotdog bun and eating it. Stupid AF.
You have lost the right to insult Rifle with his voting record or beliefs !

I no longer bet, but I DO donate to places like Tunnel to Tower, where the funds are spent on US servicemen and servicewomen !

Make the bet THE DONATION and you can still beat your chest !

I'd make it a bet for a donation to Tunnels to Tower. No issue with that. TJ will have to take it though.

A lot of Rs will go down with the crap they are pulling. Somehow Talarico supporters believe these unprecedented moves by Rs with an R president are perfectly OK.

Train - you are still a Republican, but the people who put them in power are sick of their crap.

Turn in this US Flag to your local VFW and replace it with one not torn !

Wow, this guy is good! I may need to consider they/ him.

If I were a major leftwing donor, I would invest in a better candidate in another state, but they love to light money on fire in Texas

Keep reassuring your-selves that he is a horrible candidate and that the soundbite ad RW media is posting will kill his campaign.

Who are these voters?

The Democratic activist class is both the most educated piece of the Dem coalition and undeniably the worst group of like-minded folks in it. These are often the blue hairs you are irritated about.

The more educated a Republican, statistically the higher income and perhaps the more traditional conservative (economic freedom, socially right of center but not far right). Republicans now have a more ideologically diverse coalition, but their base voters are probably the most extreme of such groups (the GOP base historically is less educated than some other coalition members and more religious, with the addition of MAGA it will be interesting how things unfold there post-Trump).

Yes, they are betting that he won't come off as super radical in spite of his past nonsense, and that Paxton will be toxic once he gets nuked. We'll see.

The fact that the MAGA diehards are coming out guns blazing against Talarico - and not whoever is running against Abbott, I couldn't name that person this second - is because they are very worried about Paxton. And if he loses when the two alternatives (Cornyn/Hunt) were very likely winners, uh oh.

Nominating Ken Paxton is a huge gamble for basically nothing but a headache in DC, where Paxton will cause everyone trouble without any meaningful benefit over every other option in existence.

Thune endorses Paxton.

ps. I spent a little time researching Paxton and he was elected 3 times statewide as Attorney General, winning most recently in 2022 by 1.1 million votes vs the Dem. So he is experienced running for state wide office.

I can't comment on his competency but he is not a RINO and his opponent is a nut job. Talarico's interpretations of Christianity are absurd and should offend any professing Christian who knows their bible. If Paxton doesn't screw up he should be OK.

Great to hear from Arizona, where there is no reason to know that Paxton was impeached by Republicans for his misdeeds and malfeasance, is being divorced by his wife on “Biblical grounds” (multiple affairs and almost certainly general douchery), took a plea agreement for securities fraud committed shortly before he became AG, somehow managed to enmesh himself in a controversy about stealing a pen from another lawyer (he did it and lied before being confronted by the video surveillance), and so on.

Great candidate he is.

One of the best political handicappers already noting the GOP’s general problem in Texas if Hispanic voters flip back towards Dems like they’ve been doing all over. Which is gonna happen. This is independent of Paxton’s personal problems.

Btw Paxton hasn’t led a poll against Talarico this year. Beto never led a single poll against Cruz.

My dude, I know you aren’t smart, but that is giving Kenny a 60% chance to win and Talarico a 40% chance. So 3 in 5 versus 2 in 5.

That implies one of the closest Senate races in the country, making Paxton a modest favorite. (That said, this will be bet back down closer to 50/50 as the narrative money moves on).
LOL. You’ve been wrong so many times and you call other people not smart. GFY.

In the above scare and fear article they note an August 2025 Phoenix dust storm. I was actually on the last plane to land at Sky Harbor before that storm enveloped the airport. The person with the window seat was oblivious as she looked at her phone. The storm was moving north and the pilot definitely hustled to get it on the ground - no smooth turn or slow pace, lol. Since I had been traveling for 25 hours I was thankful he didn’t have to circle for an hour! Biggest storm in a decade they said.

As for valley fever, there are spores in the soil. Just don’t go for a run or walk when the wind picks up in monsoon season. The only guy I know who got it was a builder. Somehow, he got it after his days of building were over. Said it was like breathing through a straw.

BBC just pushing an agenda and being drama queens.

I agree with you on some of this. I said I couldn't comment on his competency but I could and will continue to say that Talarico is a nut job. His comments about the American flag are crazy and he now says he is running a vegan campaign yet several posts before this one he he is eating a big slab of meat. He beat Jasmine Crockett to get the nomination which doesn't prove anything about competency or winning in November.

Paxton was impeached (charged) on 14 counts by the Texas House and acquitted on all 14 accounts by the Texas Senate. I listened to his acceptance speech and he sounds like a guy who has been through the wringer and got a lifeline from Trump. I'm trusting you Texans to pick the best senator but our system is giving you only 2 choices and we don't need anymore Democrat senators.
