Hopefully Tate and Zinn will put an end to this and have Rutgers earn a passing grade

Here was the 2025-26 report card in Piscataway:

-- Football: 5-7 overall, 2-7 in Big Ten play
-- Volleyball: 12-20, 3-17 Big Ten
-- Men's basketball: 14-20, 6-14 Big Ten
-- Women's basketball: 9-20, 1-17 Big Ten
-- Baseball: 26-30, 13-17 Big Ten
-- Softball: 27-27, 6-18 Big Ten

I honestly didn't know RU had a volleyball team.

They ignored RU Wrestling, which ended up #11 in final national rankings
Funny how our 3rd most attended sport he leaves off the list. This Barnett even goes into a schpiel about how some sports maybe emphasized more by different schools yet leaves wrestling off the list. Great research there Zach, better go back to Bayside High and get that GED.

Yea never mind Rowing that just won a Big Ten championship this week, wrestling that finished top 10 and womens lax that just made it to the sweet 16. Or track where we just won the NCAA national championship in javelin. Mens soccer that won the Big Ten last year, baseball that went to the Big Ten championship last year, womens soccer that goes to the NCAAs basically every year and multiple B1G titles and final fours. Do the big 2 need work (FB and MBB), oh yea. But the spirit of the article that RU isnt competing in the Big Ten in all sports is a complete farce.

agree. Brings no income
What about the sports that are costing more then they bring in??
Your way of looking at RU sports means unprofitable ones need to be dumped.
The Rutgers wrestling program , even though it's considered one of the best in nation and ranked #11 in 2026 , operated with deficits exceeding $1 million annually.
Looks like that program doesn't bring in money , cost more than it takes in.

Wrestling brings in. 100x the money than volleyball does! Sorry pick 16 sports and the top revenue producers survive.

Every sport at Rutgers costs more than it brings in, including football and men's basketball. None are profitable. I detailed this here.

In 2025, wresting generated $820,180. Women's volleyball brought in $146,852.

Wresting is near the middle in the B1G. Women's volleyball has been getting better but remains dead last in the conference.

Rowing is doing great but they didn’t win the Big Ten. Washington did.

That’s neat and all but all those sports went away few would care or even notice.
