I use to follow MMA pretty religiously for years but haven’t much for the past 5+ years. It’s supposed to be nationally televised on CBS so I plan to watch it in a couple weeks. Supposed to be a good fight card.

What’s really funny is when they had gunfire at the Corespondents dinner when they rushed Trump to the ground Dana White just sat there and ate his salad while everyone else hit the deck.
I'm sure this will be a great event but I'm not fired up about having it at the White House. Just doesn't seem proper and demeans the White House.
Nothing against MMA. I love watching it. I would say that about any sporting event.
Also, let's put, the millions it will take to put this show on and spend it on something a bit more meaningful. Just my opinion.

Never was a big fan of boxing, MMA or other hand-to-hand stuff that was made for tv. Never felt like they lived up to the hype. Tyson was fun to watch back in the day because it was usually a quick fight.
Back in the day I went to a few MMA watch parties for some of the bigger events and it was a small dlck, affliction shirt, faded bedazzled jeans, ready to fight everybody, douchebag fest.

I never had an Affliction shirt but my god were those things popular and they were probably the most perfectly fitted T-shirt I had ever seen.
You could not go out to certain bars in Omaha without running into about 50 Affliction dudes.
Not an MMA fan but i'll tune in for the historical pagentry aspect.

UFC is footing the bill I believe. I will watch, but I understand the sentiment of people not wanting it on the grounds.

Hell yes. It will be a much better card than watching Nate Diaz get beat up. Hated seeing that, and Gena Carano give up in .14. Really good card.

I was never really into the UFC but me and my friends would watch it...What White has done to promote and grow the UFC is really amazing though. It helps that boxing has been on such a huge decline because, for the most part, the last boxer anyone cared about was Tyson and that was what, 30 years ago now?
What did I say then that didn’t happen. When the shots rang out they immediately push Trump to the ground then they rush him out but getting him to the ground immediately is the first order of protocol that the SS follows.

Security is just one expense the taxpayers will have to cover. I may be wrong but I don't see a way security can be covered by outside money. I have heard White is paying for the arena.
