Worst thing your pet has ever swallowed?

We have a little ankle biter now who has a pretty sensitive stomach that will have some pretty gnarly diarrhea with even a little change from his normal diet. That's why I'm always watching the kids like a hawk that they're not dropping anything that he could get a hold of. Apparently grapes are super poisonous to dogs, which you would think with as many dogs as we have and grapes that are consumed, more dogs would die from eating grapes. Never heard of a dog dying from eating a grape.

Had a previous dog chew up a Christmas wreath that had a bunch of metal and other things. Thankfully it all passed and he didn't need surgery. I could have killed that dog.

About 6-8 inches of rope. Had to have it surgically removed. Not cheap.
He eats stupid shi.t when he sees us packing for a trip. We now barricade off most the house before we travel so he's limited in what damage he can do to himself.

One of our cats used to be a stray, so he's fucan crazy about food. One day I walked into the kitchen and found him just surrounded by chocolate covered peanuts. He probably ate 20-30 of them. He had broke into a cupboard and grabbed whatever he could find. He had to get his stomach pumped and spend the night at the vets that night.

A sock and the fibers were tearing up the dog’s GI tract. Surgery cost more than the dog. Dog now has negative equity.

This is how I learned the entirety of Veterinary school is learning how much to charge someone based on the amount of crying & tears the human has when entering the clinic.

I don’t think peanut butter is remotely close to being the worst thing one of our dogs has ever eaten. Pretty sure both of our dogs have had a grape or two and have survived. Other than that, who knows what type of critter they have got their paws on and the disease that critter had.

My girl isn't a liberal, and does not swallow stupid sh&t. She's a bad *** Aussie and runs cattle properly. She's also hell on Copperheads.

When we lived in ATL; owned a large (15 lb.) white, long haired cat. Super pet & loving companion…just not all that smart.

She ate a long piece of yarn off of one of wife’s baby projects (she was about 5 months pregnant). Wife didn’t notice (I’d already relocated to SoCal to take the new job—-yeah, I know, I was husband of the year material). As cat began to squeeze out her “kitty nuggets” in the litter box, she freaked as the pinch off technique wasn’t working. Began running around the downstairs with a two foot long trailing line of three or four nuggets. Wife had to glove up (Toxoplasmosis) and catch Dusty to help her out.

You can imagine the call I received that night.
Good times. Funny now; not so much, then.

A golf ball.

We live on a golf course and had a 110# lab/great dane mix. He started throwing up all over the house. Figured he got into something and would work through it. After a couple of days, over the weekend of course, he didn't stop and was getting very weak. An x-ray showed a golf ball lodged where his stomach met his intestines. Nothing was getting through. Emergency surgery and $3400 later, I had the most expensive golf ball I ever bought.

It was Sept 27, 2014. I left my lab/collie mix in the yard. She discovered I left the left off my garden compost bin, and she filled her belly. About a hour later, she began to have seizures on the floor at my feet. Late night vet was open and pumped her stomach and gave her some "charcoal" to help neutralize the effect.

One dog used to hide socks, turns out the other dog liked eating them and would throw them up

One dog ate a plastic soda bottle cap one time. I thought it was just missing and didn’t think anything of it, a week later on a walk he threw it up. I think it was somewhere in him for that week

So we had an 11 pound Boston that swallowed one of the giant asparagus spears from Costco whole - unbeknownst to me. Poor little dude must has swallowed it whole because it sure came out that way.

Then one time our 18 pound Boston ate half a dozen chocolate glazed donuts - long johns. I was more worried about her blowing up her insides than the chocolate. Called the vet and they said as long as she is still walking around she'll be fine. She crapped what looked like chocolate shaving cream for about three days before her stomach went back to normal size.

Our rotti/pitty mix eats everything and is fine. 3 pounds of Halloween candy in the wrapper - crapped out wrappers for a week. He has eaten several boxes of crayons and craps the rainbow.

We have a tissue eater. He will sneak back into our bedroom and go thru any pants he can find and pull all the tissues out and eat them. He knows he's not supposed to and he tries to time his excursions when we're distracted. I actually keep a baby gate in front of the door to our bedroom now after he chewed thru a pocket but he still gets in from time to time. We have a fossilized turd out back that's 90% tissues. I leave it there for him to reflect on.

It's especialy bad when the wife's on the period. Both of the idiot dogs will eat that stuff. It's gross. We mostly always make sure the door to our bathroom is closed. Occasionally we forget.

We had a stray cat that wandered to our home, he wsa beat to **** and missing his tail. We put out some milk and let him stay and he nursed himself back to health. We called him Bob. One day Bobcat came back from a field and had an adult Pheasant that he had caught. He laid it down and started feasting on that bird. We said "Bob, don't eat the whole thing or you'll die". He did, and then he did.

A whole tube of diaper rash cream. Piles and piles of white creamy vomit all over the house when we got home. Dog was 100% fine. She would also eat diapers if she got in the trash.
