Who cares, all just "club sports" ***** We don't care about all the free publicity, recognition, and recruiting that the university gets nation wide as these teams travel and play their way through their respective tournaments.

How is baseball guaranteed 9th if we win our regional? We are the 14th seed overall. Logically that would only guarantee us a rank of 14th if we win the regional.
Officially the eight Super Regional losers tie for ninth.
Regional runners up are 17th

How is softball guaranteed 7th? That's not how end of the year rankings work. All hosts could move on, only top 8 make it to Omaha and baseball likely finishes 14th. There's not an 8-way tie for 9th place.

Okay.

Duke, UTSA, Miami, Florida State, West Virginia, UNC, Auburn and Tennessee all listed as 9th place finishers in baseball.
Didn't know that existed. But no one is going to say they finished 7th or 9th overall. They will say whatever d1 or baseball america uses. Looking at the 'official' football standings, did Arkansas finish 0 overall then? Is that what they will tell people?

How dare you post something positive about Mississippi State sports!!! By God, we wouldn't finish 9th!!! That's ridiculous. We've got to keep the relentless negativity going on here! We suck! All the sports operate at a loss! We shouldn't celebrate their success, we should cut them and put all the money into football. Fire Selmon!

Exactly. 615 posts a factual statement that would be great for the school, and people start working really hard to disprove it.

So weird to me.

Here is an idea. Get to Omaha and make it a no-doubter.

nEt lOsS*** who cares. This isn't a business, it's not a professional league with investors and shareholders. It's college sports, it's fun, and it's good for the university
If Bama football would have lost $1M per year for the entire Saban era, I think it still would have been over all profitable for the university. Just the amount of student growth (25k to 41k) would deliver payback. Immediately from increased funding, and ongoing from additional future alumni.

I understand that football (especially at Bama) has more influence than all of these smaller sports combined by a large margin, but a winning culture brings people. Bandwagon students still pay tuition and become fans.

Baseball America, Perfect Game, USA Today Coaches, D1, NCBWA all have a final poll ranked 1-25.
I posted last years NCAA "Final Standings" in the NCAAT, not the final Top 25. Showing the previous point about us finishing 9th, etc.

Well hell, Lemonis last two teams finished 17th and we fired him before he could even finish his last season. We suck.
