The dealership we bought our used golf cart from last year low-balled me on the price and is dragging their feet on the counter, so I'm trying out FB.
I got 5 pings in the first few hours, all of whom have main profiles that look like abandonware.

However, two of them have multiple seller ratings over the last few years, and one appears to buy golf carts to pimp out and resell with numerous selling posts in the area he says he's from.

What should I be on the lookout for and/or am missing?

Just make sure it’s not a bot. Immediately cut off anyone who starts taking about weird payments, sending someone else to pick it up, sending you a deposit to hold it, etc. I prefer someone local who at least appears to be active on FB. Watch out for counterfeit cash if it’s high value

Like Kired said you need to be careful to make sure the seller is not some scammer. Best thing is to see if the person has a regular profile and is active outside of marketplace. I have bought and sold alot of things on marketplace. It’s a good resource but you just have to make sure a listing isn’t fake.

I’m not really active on FB other than a few private groups involving things I’m interested in. I sure as heck don’t post pictures on there. I do communicate with sellers proving than I’m a legit buyer. I let them know where I’m located or that I’m an hour away from their location. If the communication is vague then it’s probably not real.

I walked through a couple of golf cart dealers in The Villages, FL last week. The selection and different price points were virtually unlimited.

Oh, wait.. you're selling... I'm an idiot.

Ended up going swimmingly. Definitely echo the advice to check profiles. The folks who do this regularly have feedback galore.
