Assuming this is for Senegal to get an extra practice field, grass is being installed directly on top of the existing turf at RU inside the football stadium. Currently in progress. I wonder if they might leave it in place for a few games or the season, would be awesome! But doubt.

Nice. Rutgers already has 5 grass fields, Yurcak, two grass practice fields for soccer, two more for football. Is Senegal or Rutgers paying for a sixth grass field?

The SHI grass field should stay through the football season. My view is good grass is better than good turf and players seem to agree.

I was surprised also. I figure that Rutgers was chosen because of the immaculate turf program, which is responsible for the 2 soccer practice fields and 2 football practice fields which are all amazing. The sod looks very think to last too long though, so it will probably be taken up after the World Cup.

perhaps also, this is being prepped as a backup location for Metlife? Should they not be able to host games there for any reason. RU stadium field is large enough in dimensions to meet FIFA regulations

It cannot be possible Rutgers is paying for this. It is also true to form that Rutgers and NJ are doing too little if anything to promote their/our participation in this. As usual a missed once in a LONG time missed opportunity. Last time they promoted anything it was the drum squad at Victoria's Secret Walk.

Good god no. No matter what they do, by the time we get around to playing Michigan, Nebraska and Michigan State, that field will be shredded.
