We've had our share of "RATS" over the years and you have to think the OU fanbase was sitting over there thinking who the 17 is/was this/that. Honestly sat there mesmerized myself. When she hit Wells and the boos were raining down on her, next pitch, strike right down the middle. Got just a tad loose a couple of times from there but brought it back then and closed the game with fly out after fly out. This may be the most unlikely great performance in MSU history. She pitched 12 innings all season, all in relief, and she starts the biggest game of the season against the best hitting team in the country and tosses a 3-hit shutout in a game that sends the team to its first ever WCWS. Absolutely unbelievable.
Incredible. I don’t know his this team will do in CWS. But with her, Faircloth, Goold & #17, id put our pitching staff up there with anyone. And hitters are starting to produce some too. This may be the most unlikely great performance in MSU history. We are hot and getting hot in the postseason is sometimes good enoughIncredible. I don’t know his this team will do in CWS. But with her, Faircloth, Goold & #17, id put our pitching staff up there with anyone. And hitters are starting to produce some too.
She went through surgery earlier this year, lost her Dad recently and today was her Mom and Dad's anniversary. She dedicated this game to them. She had nerves of steel. One of the great performances by a State athlete. Oklahoma had not been shut out in 399 games. She also kept their freshman from breaking the single season home run record. To put Oklahoma in perspective they used an ex Tennessee All American to pitch run in one of the games. That’s their talent level!Just a little research says Delainey was a pretty well thought of recruit out of HS. #29 nationally coming out.
Btw, she was 10-2 with a 2.92 ERA last season for us, and she faced plenty of good teams, including Texas and Oklahoma.
She found her mojo again this weekend.
This pitching staff is stacked right now. You've always got a chance with that much pitching.

If we can keep hitting our pitching will carry us. Tennessee has a pitcher that can throw 80 MPH. We don't want her in our game! Doesn't TTU have the girl that pitched and helped her team win the NC last year?I dunno, maybe we’re due to come back down to earth but if I’m Ricketts I’m hammering home that if you can win a Super in Norman, you can win the whole thing.
We’ll play Texas Tech first and then get either Texas or Tennessee, playing with house money. Excited to watch it.
Facing an elite pitcher is my biggest fear for this team. I thought going in we matched up pretty good with Okie because we’d be able to get a few runs off their pitching & our pitchers could hold them in check somewhat. But I’m afraid an elite pitcher could make it hard for us to score any runs at all.If we can keep hitting our pitching will carry us. Tennessee has a pitcher that can throw 80 MPH. She closed out the 11-8 victory on Friday pitching 2 innings and allowing 0 runs. In 9 innings against OU she gave up 0 runs. That Friday performance is probably what convinced Ricketts to start her Sunday after both Goold and Faircloth struggled Saturday. This may be the most unlikely great performance in MSU history.
