Congrats Cats! (But weird to get all of the iffy calls)

Time after time close calls/bad calls went the 'Cats way. UNC lost two goals on review and both were iffy. Our gal stepped on line on the clincher.

Very strange, after 50 years of crap calls/ref bias usually going the wrong way in football and basketball to see NU the team with a little ref bias in their favor.

But still an unbelievable win and unbelievable season (and the campus looked awesome too).

I admit I don't know much about the rules of lacrosse, but I didn't understand the refs overturning the game tying goal for UNC in the 4th quarter. That said, who cares! Go Cats! Another one bites the dust! Ninth natty for KAH. Absolutely amazing.

Interestingly Nu doesn’t have the “top” recruits. Yet we win with 3 stars. Hope football and basketball can do the same.

Can’t shoot on a defender that is right on you, even if there is not a lot of contact. That was a reasonable overturn of the goal.

Why not? NIL? Seems like KAH is like the Coach K of LAX, why can't she get the top recruits?
She does pretty darn well in the portal. She recruits potential and develops stars, and plugs holes with the portal. Seems like a winning formula.

UNC's sophomore class is pretty remarkable. They're going to be tough the next couple of years if they stay healthy.

just heard that both refs were NU grads. And we were home..... not to take anything away from KAH and this amazing team but I can understand UNC's frustration.

Yes Kelly recruits portal. However when she started it was teamwork and grit and desire. My daughter was in that team.
FWIW although I agree unc has great sophomore class, we have a lot of underclass men playing top so I think we will be fine if we get a good goalie

I really do not know the intricacies of the rules of the women's game but most can be related to the origins of the game in Victorian England. The stick technology has improved to the point that the women can "shoot" the ball rather than push it , creating greater risk of facial injuries. Goggles are a relatively new requirement and Florida requires helmet use now, probably a good idea.
The 8 meter free is a severe penalty for a minor infraction, an alternative would be a 30 second "man up" equivalent to offsides in the men's game. With the increased shot velocity in the women's game the 8 meter free places the goalie at increased risk for "commotio cordis" George Boiardi (LSM)of Cornell died from this in 2004 as have several HS goalies. NU had a player(Rattigan) 2 years ago that had the hardest shot I have seen, a real danger from an 8 meter free
The women's game has evolved and will continue to in the years to come.

She gets the one she wants?
KAH is the best talent evaluator in the game. There are several 5* players on the roster and guess what...Madison Taylor was barely a top 100 recruit. Aditi Foster was a 4*. Heck even the freshman McCollester who was the star of the championship game wasn't even in the top 100. UNC is clearly the biggest recruiting powerhouse right now between NIL, nice weather, and whatever else they're selling but until there's evidence KAH isn't getting who she wants and that's translating into worse results I won't be worried. Seven straight F4, four straight championship games included two titles speak for themselves.
