If we get a two seed it'll be the biggest screw job ever inflicted on a host team. Look at any of the data driven polls (like Massey), which takes scores into account, and we are a clear Top 12 team.

Edit to clarify. I mean a screw job to the host team we get sent to play. That's the other side of mis seeding. You 17 over the higher seed by sending them a team that is much better than they should be having to face.

No 17'n Big 10 team outside of UCLA should be seeded well ahead of us. If Nebraska gets credit for a high RPI so should we, because if you drill into their quality wins, they don't stand out over our records.

But they're gonna be, because the committee is not gonna look closely enough at the makeup of the Quad 1 records. We have played 11 games against Top 8 seeds, and another 5 games against sure hosts, and another 7 against teams under host consideration.

None of them can touch that.

If Arkansas loses today, we are getting a regional. If they win I would put it at 50-50. Which is BS btw. But just based off all these sites new projections I think this is what it comes down to.

Well deserved if true. 4-15 vs top 10 is NOT deserving to host imo. You don’t reward that type of underperformance. Hopefully our coaches are accountable and perform better next season as we were projected top 4 finish going in. Should be hosting a super, yet here we are sweating if we even host a regional at all. Awful performance.

That's bizarre. RPI is #12. Every other ranking metric is at least that high. Only 5 losses to teams outside top 16 RPI and none outside top 32. And two supposedly knowledgeable websites are saying we won't host?

Nothing earth shattering is happening in this last week to cause us to tumble. It feels like the **** guys who live and die this stuff gin up to get clicks. Hopefully the committee is more logical.

Honestly I’ll be surprised & a bit pissed if we’re not at least the #12 seed. You can’t find 12 resumes better then ours.

I’d have to see others record against specifically top 10 teams. If Kansas, Oregon, Arkansas or any other team competing for the last few host spots are that bad against top 10, I’d be inclined to agree with you.

I’m guessing, purely based off RPI, that others don’t have more top 10 wins than us (or not significantly) because I’m thinking they’d be ahead of us in the RPI.

That's just cherry-picking one arbitrary stat that just so happens to be one that makes us look weak. Hmmm....

If true, the NCAA will be giving our guys a chip to put on their shoulder.

Since money talks, why in the world would the NCAA not want a packed DNF?

Buzzards jump us and are now 12 in RPI while we fall to 13. I'm assuming if Oregon holds on to be UCLA they'd jump us also. They are currently 15. We might be screwed.

I don't think Oregon can jump us, but it'll be close if they win.

Not much is going our way in these conference tourneys. Be nice if UCLA could come through with a walk off in the 9th.

WN projects Oregon to be #14, still behind us, with a win today:

This is just a projection because every game affects everyone else's RPI, but since there just a couple of games left to play today, it should be pretty safe.

#13 feels a little less safe than #12 to me, but I still think we clearly fit the profile of a host unless the committee cherry-picks a few metrics that are weaker for us and values those above all the rest.

My personal assessment of it is State should host and West Virginia should be traveling. But I understand the WVU case to a certain extent.

Kendall Rogers (simultaneously a questionable source and a pretty good one) thinks Oregon is hosting regardless and that it's Mississippi State, Arkansas, and West Virginia competing for the last 2 spots. I assume this means he thinks Kansas and Southern Miss are locks to host.

I could be wrong, but I still pretty good about us being in.

I would be surprised if they gave the SEC both spots .
