The fate of next season rests squarely on Diallo and Wilkins. I do not believe Williams or Hawthorne will be a factor.
Diallo
Wilkins
Momsilivic
N’Daiye
Moreno

I agree with your first sentence, but not your second. Williams is a really good spot up shooter (and elite FT shooter). I don’t see why he wouldn’t continue to get plenty of run even if he doesn’t start.

In regard to Hawthorne, I understand we’re both speculating and so I couldn’t make any projection with confidence or much conviction. But I do believe that if a freshman were coming in with the size and skill set of Hawthorne many on the board would be claiming “there’s no way he doesn’t start,” etc. I wouldn’t be one of them – it would actually be unjustified, superficial-thinking nonsense based on even less evidence than we have with Hawthorne – but I doubt anybody would say he wouldn’t be a factor sight unseen.

Zoom is buff.
He’s got the body of a top notch guard. I like his size for the SEC. Seems like a good passer and real PG. It’s the other stuff I wonder about. Leadership, winning, IQ, defense, shooting. If he is better than I expect and Wilkins takes a next step that will be a huge part of us improving. I still think we need Moreno and Momcilivic to not be a mediocre team though. Like 9th place type team again.

If we can manage to get both the M&M brothers that 4th starting position may be a battle between N'Daiye, McBride, Williams and Hawthorne.

Tied for 7th not 9th and a crooked call against Auburn from a likely tie for fourth. You of course know this but never miss an opportunity to push your negative agenda. If we just avoid castrophic injury issues we should logically be better. I had this same argument with the guy that gets banned 75 times a day.

Kam needs to be able to handle the ball to create shots and get to the FT line something he doesn’t do right now.

Point is we shouldn’t be struggling to beat bad teams like Auburn. Don’t give the refs a reason to cheat you.

zoom definitely has the build to stand up to just about any contact you can throw at him, let’s hope he puts it together as a downhill driver like Lamont and Oweh were, can definitely see him being a high FTA/game guy

Last year isn’t this year and like 7th place is anything to be excited about. I just live in reality and don’t blindly sunshine pump for no reason. Feel free to look at the rosters of the rest of the SEC and Pope’s history and explain to me why we won’t A.) lose double digit games, and B.) have a high finish in the SEC. We can then revisit after the season. This is my opinion before games start based on the current roster. It’s also funny that you say I’m always negative when I got **** for defending Calipari later into his tenure than most, and was behind Pope after his hire and year one results. I definitely had concerns and last year just showed me that they were valid. His recruiting also shows he isn’t up to the task.

In a best case- thats a fleet of longass dudes coming in waves. Reminds of some of Roy’s better unc teams in terms of build.

Tied for 7th is the actual truth. I never said it was anything to be excited about but if you guys consider it crappy enough to make your point why misrepresent it over and over?

One disappointing season that would very likely have ended in a tie for fourth of sixteen if not for an obviously crooked call at Auburn in one of the toughest SEC's ever is just not the catastrophic disaster it is made out to be. Denying the impact of injuries and schedule difficulty is unfair. All the mostly unjustified negativity around the program is definitely hurting things and impacting our recruiting.

While I could understand the frustration with Cal at the time I was saying it was unlikely we could bring in a new coach that would immediately improve us dramatically. It was made even more difficult when Cal and the NBA took our entire roster and all but one incoming recruit who was considered an afterthought to begin with. Pope is our coach for now and our success is inextricably tied to his so you might as well support him for now. If we do not succeed a change will be made in due time.

Who would you rather have as PG this year: A junior Zoom or a freshman Andrew Harrison? I go for the former.
