Serious discussion please.

Next weekend start Decaro against the 4 seed and then Glauber game 2 against the 2/3. Lynch game 3. This is all contingent on getting length out of Glauber and letting Mcduffie work games 1 and 3.

Supers, Glauber starts game 1.

He’s hands down our best pitcher, and it’s not really close. I love his role now where he can pitch in multiple games over the weekend but I’d also love him going 8 or 9 and saving the bullpen.

What do you guys think?

You know you can ~80 elite pitches from him in 2 relief appearances. You don’t know you can get 80 elite pitches from him in a start. And then who do you bring in from the bullpen if he’s getting raked in the second inning?

Not a bad option. It would mean a bigger relief role for Rose. Basically Rose and McDuffie as the most trusted arms out of the pen

He’s said relieving is easiest for him. In a relief role, he’s available multiple games a weekend.

He will start a plenty ….next season. This year he’s an assassin out of the pen.

Just in my Opinion of course
Safe to assume Friday night starter next year?

For regionals you go Decaro/Lynch those first two games and hope you don't even have to use Glauber. Then maybe you consider starting him game 3 if he hasn't been used.

If we had any other viable depth you could COUNT ON right now, then I think it’s something you could at least think about. But no way with the way the rest of our pen has performed/ been not really trusted by Forbes.

No one else has pitched when we really needed them. My fear is the crap shoot when those guys inevitably get called on for tough outs… none will be coming in with momentum or recent confidence building outings…

If we make it to Omaha, I would be surprised if he doesn’t start a postseason game at some point along the way. Just all depends how it plays out.

I just hope we can meet one day so I can buy you a beer to show you I’m not a bad guy. (Cue the “I don’t drink” response)

I don’t think you’re a bad guy. I just think it’s silly to assume we’d get 7+ out of him if he started. He went 5.2 today and threw 90 pitches. His walk rate is higher than both DeCaro and Lynch, both of who often struggle to go deep in games.

I also think it’s a weird message to drastically change something that got you to top 4 in the country.

We have a great set of pitchers
There is a reason none of them will likely go first round-maybe Glouber in a couple years? Our Friday Nightguy projected to go 105 ish
Forbes is doing his best to manage it . Nice ERAs, lots of walks Good Velo-not much elite Velo compared to some
Now having said that I believe I am right in saying we pounded top pitcher prospects from GT and Coastal

Am I the only one disappointed that the Coaching Staff feels like they have to tighten up the arms that see the mound so much? It's like watching the "iron five" all over again.

This is baseball. You know there's gotta be kids saying "put me in coach" that likely won't return if they have to sit out the post season.

At the beginning of the season we were praised for our pitching depth. That is a key to winning in Omaha.
