Since we appear to be wandering the desert for 40 years I figure I'll start this thread here too.

Sony A6700Nice. Crop sensor and what mm lens on those?
I've been eyeing an A7iv.Sony A6700
Tamron 150-500
Already looking at the sony 200-600
Good time to buy as all the gear chasers are buying the V and selling off IVs.I've been eyeing an A7iv.
I've rented the 200-600 a few times. Really nice. Heavier for sure, but the weight sort of stabilizes things a bit for you, so still does well handheld.Sony A6700

Have A7r IV. But do mostly landscape so waiting for a big boost in MP on next release.I've been eyeing an A7iv.
Exactly my thinking.Good time to buy as all the gear chasers are buying the V and selling off IVs.
I bought the Tamron because it was supposed to be nearly as good for half the price and a lot smaller/more compact. But I'm seeing people posting photos from it after owning it for a day and they're just sharper. There have been a few for sale around me on marketplace for ~$1500 and I'm having a hard time resisting temptation. Especially with a trip to Yellowstone this summer.I've rented the 200-600 a few times. Really nice. Yeah the thing what that sort of lens is knowing the sharpness at the zoom level you tend to shoot the most at. If you're out at the max all the time that's what you need to shop for and a lot of them don't do as well there... The long lens in my kit is a tamron 70-300. Fades off a bit sharpness wise at 300. (use it mostly for landscape so doesn't matter as much -- really good at shorter lengths)I bought the Tamron because it was supposed to be nearly as good for half the price and a lot smaller/more compact.
