Tulsi Gabbard, the director of national intelligence, submitted a letter of resignation to President Trump on Friday, saying that she was stepping away to support her husband after he recently was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer.
Ms. Gabbard said she would remain in her post as the nation’s intelligence chief until June 30.
“My husband, Abraham, has recently been diagnosed with an extremely rare form of bone cancer,” Ms. Gabbard said in her resignation letter, a copy of which was released by her office. “He faces major challenges in the coming weeks and months. At this time, I must step away from public service to be by his side and fully support him through this battle.”
Mr. Trump announced that Aaron Lukas, Gabbard’s deputy, would serve as acting director of national intelligence.
Ms. Gabbard, a former Democratic congresswoman who ran for president in 2020, had been a controversial figure in the Trump administration after narrowly being confirmed by the Senate last year. She was seldom seen in the room when Mr. Trump made important national-security moves and was widely viewed within the administration and by lawmakers in Congress as not a key member of the president’s national-security team.
In a post on Truth Social, Mr. Trump thanked her for her service in the administration.
“Tulsi has done an incredible job, and we will miss her,” he wrote.

Too bad she was completely unqualified for the position she held. Hopefully her successor understands the IC better.

That said, good for her for prioritizing family.

"Better than most of Trump's people" is sad and faint praise for someone who seemed pretty good only a few years ago. But that's all I've got.

Tulsi was done when she told Congress that the Intelligence community did not feel that Iran was an immenent threat and contradicted Trump.
She should have been done when she lied about Signalgate. At this point, everyone knows my stance on politicians getting a free pass for disclosure of classified information where as the rest of us in the IC get the book thrown at us...and that holds true for Hillary and her emails to Pete and his Signal app---National Security is non-partisan.

Most of us expected Tulsi to be ousted. She told the truth more than most of Trump's people - most recently on Iran's nuclear capabilities before the war - and she was, after all, a woman.
IMO she told the truth on Iran's nuclear capabilities because Iran was a strong Russian ally and she didn't want Iran invaded. She only told truths when it was beneficial to Russia, she told lies when it benefited Russia. Seems like she disregarded the truth in any other circumstance unless she benefitted from it.

...but sadly, they just don't mean as much as a @ Deplorable one. (yes, space in the tag was intentional. I don't miss him that much.)
I remember when ol Covfefe Hacker was gonna buy some coffee from an online coffee salesman that popped up on the old site. Smart fella he is.

As an unquestioned liberal, one of the things I've hated to see is so many of my Dem comrades fall for Hillary's BS about Tulsi being a Russian asset. When you repeat that nonsense, you sound no better than MAGAs regurgitating FOX talking points.

The Russians thought she was.

Sorry man but I lost all respect for her when she tried to frame Obama by saying he knew Russia didn't have the ability to digitally interfere with the voting machines when that was never his charge. When he claimed interference, he was talking only about social media.
