I turned the channel. I’m not watching a home plate umpire basically get outs for Tech in what should’ve been a multiple run inning for Carolina.
Why does everybody keep saying it was an atrocious call when statcast shows that it was basically touching the zone? If it was a ball, it was a ball by 1/4 of an inch. I have a hard time getting outraged about that.

Even so, in that situation I think a challenge is smart call, bases loaded no outs
All I will add is that he missed his spot on the pitch by 8 inches as well. That usually isn’t called a strike in that situation. All the graphics show it as very close. But it “looked” like more of a ball in realtime.

We hit a ball last inning that would have been on the concourse yesterday for a 3-run homer. It's been 4 outs.
