Seneca, Sandwich set to join Illinois Central Eight Conference in 2027-28

Both Sandwich and Seneca high schools chose this week to leave their current conference homes, the Kishwaukee River and Tri-County, respectively, to become the 9th and 10th members of the Illinois Central Eight Conference.

Can't see what's behind the pay wall, but any talk of Lisle leaving or even fielding a team this year? Maybe Seneca and Sandwich replace Lisle and Streator.

The article mentioned the 10 team likely closed conference. It also pointed out that this would mean that Plano and Sandwich would potentially not play each other for the first time since 1939. There was no mention of any other schools joining or leaving.

Wonder how this got done? They took off 6 years ago for greener pastures. Burned a lot of bridges!
